Ideal Stairs - stair recapping, stair refinishing and stair renovation in GTA

Ideal Stairs just completed updating our staircase from carpet to oak and installed new rails and posts. We also had the hardwood floors done in the upper hallway and family room and did a great job on matching the existing hardwood flooring we have in the bedrooms to the hallway. The floors and stairs look absolutely gorgeous and we are very happy with the end result.

We found Ideal Stairs by searching for companies on the Internet. Their website stood out with pictures of beautifully transformed staircases. A visit to the showroom convinced us this was the company to go with. They installed the stairs over the course of a week. We were installing laminate on the upper floor hallway at the same time. They did some tricky cuts of the laminate around doorways without being asked which I was impressed with. They also helped my husband move a vanity into another room. When they removed the old stairs, our dog was afraid to go down the stairs because the treads were shorter. One of the installers carried him down for me. As for the installers, they worked very hard, long days and cleaned up before leaving every day. Last but not least, the stairs are absolutely gorgeous, they workmanship top notch. I would highly recommend this company.

We had approximately 180 oak spindles in our stair case to be replaced with iron spindles to update our 3 storey staircase. The team that worked on our project was excellent. They worked very hard and were very neat and professional. In addition to the new spindles, they sanded and stained the stairs and railing. Their workmanship was excellent and the job was finished on time as promised. We would not hesitate to recommend them for any future projects.

Ideal Stairs had replaced our stairs (basement and upper floors) last year and had installed hardwood floor on the landings. We had them return to do the three bedrooms. The work was completed on time and on budget with great craftsmanship. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mesh and his company for any job, stairs or flooring, that you have contemplated. Ideal stairs came to our home because we requires a brand new staircase as ours was falling apart due to age. They were a little slow initially starting the job but once on site the men from their team worked hard for three days replacing and staining our new stairs. The finished product is beautiful and safe. The team was creative about staggering their work in order to allow us the ability to go upstairs each night as that is where our bedrooms and bathroom are located. The team was clean and polite while at our home. I would definitely recommend them.

We found Ideal Stairs on Homestars and decided to get a quote for replacing the carpet on our stairs and upstairs 3 bedrooms and hallway. They were very detailed explaining exactly what was going to be included. Their quote came in $1,000 less then the nearest competitor and they included more than the other quotes received.

We were fully renovating a 90yr old house in The Junction neighbourhood in Toronto, and ran into some problems with a contractor that was unable to complete a renovation project, and contacted Ideal Stairs to tackle the stair construction/replacement properly. Mesh and I went back-and-forth exchanging pictures and ideas, and he was always very quick to reply, and contribute creative ideas of his own.

They were sensitive to our very tight timeline (even over the holidays), communication was perfect, and once work was underway the measuring, prepping, demo, and installation crews were always very friendly, polite, quick, and kept a very clean job site when work took place over multiple days. There was never a point without access to stairs, and they worked well around other contractors working on other projects in the house at the same time.

Particularly noteworthy was how perfect Ideal Stairs was able to colour match the stain to our existing hardwood floors. I understand it was not easy work back at their shop, but the end product is flawless.

Mesh, Rajan, and all of the people at Ideal Stairs were extremely pleasant to work with, flexible to changes and alterations along the way, and I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone considering a stair project renovation. They asked for feedback during construction daily, and are very obviously committed to maintaining their already excellent reputation.
