AFG Heating and Cooling

I used this company AFG at the end of 2012. My furnace wasn't working. The gentleman Fasi was the technician that worked on my furnace. He arrived on time, he was very professional and easy to get along. He explained and showed me that I needed a new gas valve. He ordered the part for me and in a few days the part arrived and he fixed the furnance in approximately a half hour. Very nice individual. I would highly recommend him.

Fasi, the technician new what he was doing, took him few minutes to diagnose the cause of not heating and brought the parts & fix it. I am very happy with his work. He put new Heating & Cooling in my house 5 years before and we were happy at that time too.I give him 10 out 10

Since 2011 my fairly Lennox furnace (installed in 2006) began to work unpredictably: sometimes would fail to start, then shut down after several unsuccessful attempts to start for an hour or so; then would work again without any problem just to fail starting next day.
I called other companies about the issue and they were offering various remedies: replace the control board, diagnose the furnace, etc. and all these remedies would have cost me hundreds of dollars without any guarantee of success. I decided to wait till annual maintenance in October and see if the issue would be alleviated thanks to some simple solution. Alas the maintenance didn’t solve anything.
In November 2012 when the new heating season started the problem re-appeared again and in December the furnace shutdown cycles extended to 3-5 hours with temperature in the house going down to 16ºC. I called AFG Heating and Cooling, and described the issue. Sometime later Rafi from AFG called me while on the way to my house with the most likely cause of the problem – dirty flame sensor in the furnace. He came to my house, opened the furnace, cleaned the sensor and within 5 minutes the furnace was up and running; and it has been heating the house since that day without a glitch. Rafi mentioned that cleaning the sensor is a part of maintenance procedure that he follows (obviously it wasn’t followed by the other guy in my case). It goes without saying that from now on I don’t want anybody but Rafi to maintain and fix HVAC in my house. In my 20 years of being a homeowner, experienced, knowledgeable and smart technicians are a rare commodity.

I purchased a house recently and wanted to have the furnace inspected before winter. Rafi from AFG came out, he was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything he was doing in detail. At the end of the inspection I felt very comfortable to the point where I called them back to install a gas line for our new stove which he installed in such a way that it could be moved once the kitchen is renovated in spring at little cost! The prices are very reasonable and I do plan to use them in the very near future again!

We bought our first house. First week of winter; I realized that the house was pretty cold. I got three quotes for changing the furnace. When Rafi came to diagnose; he pointed out that furnace was fine but it was leaking from many spots thus wasting heat behind walls. Even if I had changed the furnace; the problem would have persisted. Rafi was extremely helpful and sealed all the joints which saved me lots of money. He explained to me in plain english instead of using big words to intimidate me. I didnt have to replace my furnace. Now I hired him for the second time to install fire place in my basement.
