Crack Busters Water Proofing Company

In January 2014 we hired Crack Busters to install a french drain and sump pump in our basement due to leaking. My husband took the day off work on the day the work was scheduled to be done but no one showed up. After finally getting ahold of someone at 11am, two guys showed up at 3pm without proper tools, worked for 3hrs and left. A few days later the guys came back to finish the job but left about 5 times during the day to go and get various items they needed. The job still wasn't done by the time they quit for the day and had t come back again. This was promised to be a one day job. My basement was left with a thick coat of concrete dust covering everything as they didn't drape properly. A good portion of my garage was taken up with garbage left over from the job that the guys promised to return to pick up. Same story as the other reviews - once this company gets payment they are IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of. Morgan promised me on 3 separate occasions that someone would be at my house to get the garbage and no one would show up or call. It was only after my 4 year old tripped over their garbage and I called and left a nasty message that they finally called back and showed up. I am not kidding at least 10 voicemails left with no return calls. Morgan promised us Keg gift cards for our trouble but surprisingly that never happened. I called "Mike" to complain about the poor customer service, my basement covered in concrete dust and my frustration. Mike said he would talk to Morgan to get the story and call me back...that was 5 months ago...I finally gave up. I would NOT use this company again and I wish I had known about this website before I hired them. I hope I never need warranty work but I would rather pay someone else than trust this company again.

I hired Crack Busters to waterproof 3 cracks in my foundation walls after discovering water in the basement at 2 of them. They did the work in April 2013 and I was immediately concerned that the drainage board ("dimpled board") was extremely visible - 12 inches above the ground! I finally got a hold of Mike who assured me that someone would come by to trim it down in the beginning of May. Needless to say, no one came. I left numerous voicemails - no response. I learned to leave voicemails with just my name and number, no explanation, as a prospective customer. Mike would call, promise that someone was scheduled to fix it and no one ever came. One time he claimed that someone had already fixed it and offered to send someone to trim it more if that's what I wanted. I explained that it was not true and no one has done anything in the first place. He told me he would call his "technician" to check what happened and call me back. Let's just say I wasn't surprised when he didn't call me back and didn't answer the phone when I tried to call him back. My last phone conversation was with Morgan, who was the one who prepared the quote. I explained to him how frustrated I was with their customer service and how disappointed I was with the work. He assured me that there was an appointment booked for the end of July. Of course that never happened. See photos taken March 2014. I do not recommend this company for anything. The quality of work and customer service is extremely poor. The drainage board is a below grade (ground) product that can deteriorate when exposed to the elements. At one location, the termination strip that is supposed to hold it in place is barely attached to the board. I can't even cover this mess with parging or shrubs. Avoid this company!

We had Crack Busters repair the same crack twice and it is still leaking. Originally repaired in April 2013. The second time was February 2014. To get them here was a nightmare. The guy showed up with no tools to fix the crack because he thought it was an appointment for an estimate,so we had to reschedule after taking time off work already. They never answer their phone and do not return calls for warranty service. It took approxmately two weeks of me calling and calling to come back the first time. Now my leak is back again and I am still waiting for a return to my call. Very unreliable and frustrating. Steer clear from this company.

Our basement started to leak when loose mortar fell out between the chimney and the foundation. Crack Busters (Morgan) gave us a roiugh estimate over the phone for repair, and let us know what work we could do ourselves to lower the cost (removing the interior mouldy wall to expose the crack, removing the unilock brick outside).

Morgan and his crew arrived on time and worked quickly to put an external membrane over the leak. The replaced the dirt they had dug out, but left the unilock replacement up to us to keep the cost down.

We are satisfied with the result- a dry basement!- but we are unhappy with ithe black rubber membrane sticking up around our chimney. The unilock doesn`t fit properly around the chimney now, and we will have to recut some bricks to make it level again. It`s very obvious that there was a leak and we worry about the reasle value of the house being affected. But, it doesn`t leak anymore, so the job was done right if not prettily.
