My home was built in 1974 and used aluminum branch wiring. Over the winter of 2014 problems began to appear and the situation was no longer safe for my family.
I called several electricians in the tri-city area. Several. Out of all the people called one said he would show up at a specific time and never showed or called to explain why.
One showed up late and then only when I called his boss. He quoted the highest bid, but refused to follow up on the phone, in person, or through email. I contacted his employer to complain and received no response-- his price $20,000.
I don't know about you, but I hate being ignored especially when I am ultimately the boss and investing a huge amount of my money in a massive project.
Out of the 10 or so electricians I called, only one showed up on time, in person. He was polite, put on those little booties despite our house being torn apart for renovations. He gave us an estimate for all the work on site, sat and explained everything on 3 separate occasions with 3 separate people (My mother, me and my wife) and worked with my contractor to work around us while we continued to live in the house-- Brian Peyton of Home-pro electric. And to top it off, our dogs liked him right away!
Now, I am the cynical sort. When someone says they are "professional" in my mind I think of the small diner with the "world's best pie". But Brian is a professional. He acts in a professional manner. He treats you like you matter, your concerns are valid and are his problems too.
I can't recommend Home Pro Electric enough. The men sent to work (especially Ted), worked hard, remained courteous and treated my mother (who can be demanding) with kindness and respect.
The job we had done was huge. We needed to strip the walls down to the studs and fix 30 years of neglect. The parameters were difficult (they had to work around us, give us notice, get specific tasks done at a specific time). They handled it all, and even improvised as we changed our minds through out the progression.
Brian always returned my calls. Brain always answered my complaints. Brain always talked through my reservations. Brain called to check in. Brain worked with the renovation guys and co-ordinated what needed to be done.
Brain asks a fair price, imo, for the work done. He might not offer the lowest bid, but I will tell you this much, if I have any additional need for electric work, Home Pro Electric is who I will call.
