Total Concrete Solutions

I hired Total Concrete Solutions (Rolando) to replace my concrete garage floor and parge my homes foundation. Rolando responded quickly to my request for a quote and was willing to do a site visit before providing a price. From his site visit, I was left with the impression that he knew his business, was going to comply with construction standards, and was interested in providing a quality result - and I have not been disappointed.

He provided a quote that detailed the process steps and materials to be used, and was willing to amend the quote to include items that I wanted specified. His price was competitive with other quotes that I received.

Rolando and his crew were very professional and friendly on the job. At the end of every day, the site was tidied and clean and there was no damage to any of my property at the end of job! Rolando communicated especially well on the timing of the job start and the start and end of each days activity.

My garage floor is now level and smooth, the appropriate thickness and sloped to the driveway. I was very pleased with the extent of the parging of my house foundation which had to be done around and behind shrubs and plants. The job has just been finished not cured yet but so far, I rate as excellent! Definitely would recommend Total Concrete Solutions.

Update January 2024

Before the new garage floor concrete was completely cured, I asked for sawcuts to be done in the garage floor (as I wanted to make every effort to avoid cracking) but the contractor refused.

Within 8 months of the job completion, the new garage floor started to crack in exactly the same places that the previous floor was cracked; by 9 months, cracks were appearing in new places on the floor and now, over 2 years later, there are more cracks in the garage floor than there were in the previous one and they are continuing to expand.

When the cracking started at 8 months, I asked the contractor for a remediation plan. He told me that the 2 year warranty was only against heaving and that he still would not do sawcuts (although I had been advised by other concrete contractors that it might reduce further cracking). I asked if he would apply a complete floor epoxy coat to cover the cracks/stop chipping and he told me I could do it, at my own expense.

My reason for getting a new garage floor was to eliminate the cracks (and subsequent chipping). I do wish that I was told honestly that the odds of the same cracks appearing was 100% and that there would be no remediation when it happened.

My initial review was written as a condition for getting a discount on further work (parging) that I wanted to have completed.
