We found this mother/daughter cleaning team on Kijiji Hamilton. They came to give a no obligation assessment for a post reno cleaning in our home. They were very pleasant at that time, and the service they described for the cost seemed reasonable. We agreed to give them the job. They stated the price was a little more than usual due to the drywall dust, but that was understandable. I rec'd a txt msg a few days before the cleaning day, stating acceptable methods of payment as they forgot to mention that the day off; no problem. It mentioned nothing of payment before starting! the morning of, they were to start at 9am, I rec'd yet another txt msg, at 945am, stating "did you leave payment somewhere? we don't work without payment!" I replied stating I would be home for lunch, and bring payment then. Upon arriving home, the house initially looked great, they did do a good job and what they had completed. I had another contractor waiting for me when I arrived home, so I did not have time/opportunity to "inspect" the home initially. I paid Ashley and her mom cash for their work and dealt with the other contractor (this was at 2pm). Upon completion of my appt, I took a few minutes to inspect the job Ashley and her mom had done. As mentioned most things were done very well. However, the walls were not washed, the windows were not done, and the dining room table/chairs were not cleaned. These are all items they mentioned would be done. I immediately sent her a msg asking why? Her reply was that my wife had mentioned that "they may not need it, and I also forgot". I asked my wife about this statement, which made her furious. She called them immediately to rectify the situation. This was Friday afternoon, roughly 4pm. my wife left 2 voicemails, no reply was rec'd. I sent a txt on sunday evening, to which I rec'd the following; "I will reply during business hours, like I always do!" is Friday at 4pm not business hours? Ashley then went on in an accusatory tone, stating that we are now finding all kinds of issues, and how we have a second income, and she doesn't have babysitters readily available. It was quite a rant! We simply wanted a sorry for the oversight, we be back to fix the issues, or perhaps we can refund a portion of the money as you didn't receive all services as described! She even went as far to say that we were pleased with the cleaning they had done, so no refund would be granted! I have the string of txt msgs saved should you wish to see them....just contact me! $250 for 4.5 hours of work! what a ripoff....we should have researched a little better. Their competitors on kijiji do the entire job for $149.99 including windows and wall washing!!
