Canmark Roofing

In July 2016, we purchased a 20 year old home with a red concrete tile roof that we knew would need repairs. I contacted 3 companies and chose Canmark Roofing Ltd. Todd Smith came out and gave us a quote below what others had given, but more importantly, with his knowledge and experience, he inspired confidence that the job would be done right and it was. Todd even added some little extra touches like spray painting the vents we needed to match the roof which was a pleasant surprise. The roof tile repairs were done right, new skylights installed, removal of an old chimney, roof vents installed and gutters were cleaned out. Todd was also very pleasant and considerate at all times. I highly recommend this company.

We hired Canmark over the winter to replace our cedar roof with concrete tiles. As this type of roof is double the price of asphalt, we were hoping for very high quality from a larger well known company. Although aspects of the job were done well, there were some disappointing areas and problems with communication that in the end, left us feeling like it was a lot of work on our part. I did find it confusing to understand who was supposed to be dealing with the scheduling or any concerns we had about our project but once completed, the problems we needed rectified were passed onto Todd who was very nice to deal with and promised to have the issues fixed. It did take quite a bit of follow up on my part to have the problems fixed which included some unsightly work on our back lower roof. It was not communicated up front what options we had with the flashing and this was only talked about after it had been done sloppily. I felt bad complaining as the crew did work through some very cold weather but the quality of some of the finishing work was poor. They did send out another crew to fix this once the weather was nicer and although it did look much better, we did not receive a follow up call from the company once completed and it's been a number of months.

We are mostly satisfied with the new roof but feel this company could improve somewhat on communication upfront, during and after the process.

Very safe company, Brent Applegate answered all of our questions and more in helping to decide product not their company. And then when they showed up - true professionals, the house yard was meticulously cleaned every night, ( my neighbors on the other hand were envious as their contractors had to be nagged everyday) The workmanship and people were 12/10. you could not hire a better roofing company!

We had our untreated pine roof removed and replaced with lightweight concrete tile by Canmark. We found them to be professional and courteous. The roof removal was as tidy as it could be and was with a few very minor exceptions, the yard was tidied up nicely (there was snow, so it was probably hard for the guys to get every piece). The removal and installation went fairly quickly (the whole process took about two weeks on a fairly large house and with cold and sometimes snowy weather) and was not very disruptive to us. After a couple weeks we noticed sparrows trying to nest in a few spots and Canmark came back out to fill those tile ends with wire mesh. We would not hesitate to recommend Canmark.
