Cordova Taping

Saul has worked on many projects for me, and he always meets or exceeds expectations. Great work for a fair price, and he is a lovely polite person as well. His work is flawless, and the site is always tidy (not easy to do with all that sanding, but Saul keeps the dust contained.) I would never use anyone else and highly recommend.

Saul exceeded expectations in every regard. Prompt and polite, he delivered his work as promised, on time, and keeping the worksite tidy too. This is the 4th project I have worked on with Saul and I am sure it will not be the last.

Saul did an amazing taping job in our basement. He also fixed a lot of the mistakes done by the previous contractor who installed the drywall.
The final result of Saul's work can be described only as perfection. He has great pride in the work he does and is very professional and hard working and diligent individual. He did not rush the job and took extra time to make sure everything is done properly. Saul cleaned up the basement at the end of the job and showed me the final product and answered all my questions. The price for the job was very reasonable too. I can very highly recommend Saul to everyone as he is very experienced and a true professional in what he does. Drywall taping is something that can easily go wrong if you hire the wrong contractor, so this is another good reason to hire Saul for this type of work. After working with a nightmare drywaller on the main level of my house, Saul was a breath of fresh air.
I emailed Saul for a quote, and he called back within 30 minutes, and came to my house that day for a quote. He started the job 2 days later, and was done in 5 days, as he promised. Not to mention, he is one of the kindest people I have met. My 3 year old son adored him.

The Job:
Remove "Painted" stucco, repair 13 holes left by pot light installer in 800sqft basement ceiling with angles and sloped ceiling above stairs. 1 wall that required new drywall replaced.

Saul came in each day on-time, was careful not to make a mess on our main floor, walking to the basement. He scraped the painted stucco off the ceiling, the best he could, as this is not easy to remove. He then did 1 skim coat every day. He used dehumidifiers and space heaters to ensure they dried properly for the next morning.

Results:
FANTASTIC!!!! Way above my expectations. I was not able to find a single flaw in the ceiling, it was so smooth. My painter had told me that he did a phenomenal job. He was shocked, as he had seen how bad the stucco looked prior.

I have already recommended Saul to 2 other people with confidence.

Found Saul listed here and on the Mike Holmes website. He was one of the few tapers who replied to my request for a quote. Was easy to get a hold of and showed up on time. Unfortunately the quality of the work was not to my expectation given how much I was paying. I had to redo a final coat and sand myself over the entire project to get the quality finish I was expecting. Another major failure was the taping of the shower enclosure with standard paper tape and drying joint compound. These products should never be used under tile in wet areas as the drying compound dissolves on contact with any moisture. I would assume any professional taper would know not to tape cement board joints with drying joint compound. Apparently not. I had to tear this out and clean the tile backer to remove all the joint compound. The amount of time spent and the quality of the work was worth about 50% of what I paid. Aside from this, Saul is a nice man.

Saul and Daniel were very easy to deal with! Found them as a recommended dry wall contractor through Mike Holmes website. Did an amazing Job. Very proffessional and very good job with dry wall and taping, also did very tricky part above staircase. Came out A+++++ would highly recommend these Guys
