Garaga Door Surface Rust With No Warranty 3 Years Old
Purchased a Garaga Garage door from Dodds on July 11, 2015. On June 16, 2018 while washing my garage door with liquid soap and mitt which i use to wash down my vehicles, I noticed surface rust on two different location one by the door handle the other on the far left side second panel. I sent pictures and a letter to Dodds which was the distributer of the "Garaga" door. I finally had a Represtetive from Dodds arrived at my house and inspect the surface rust on August 8, 2018 the rep. says he will notify his superior and I will be notified if the Panel of this garage door will be approved. After numerous phone calls and emails I finally recieved a response on September 13, 2018 stating I will not be approved. The rep. says to me that because of our Canadian winters I might of used to much salt on the driveway or I used an abrasive material on the door, which caused the surface rust only on the second panel. My door has four panels. I did not use alot of salt or used an abrasive material to clean my door. In the end, Dodds will be mailing me a touch up paint to cover the surface rust. Garaga states that when the rust has penetrated through the door I will then be considered for warranty, in the mean time I have to paint the rust spots, we all know rust never sleeps and it will continue to spread and affect other panels. I will definetly not buy another Garaga brand or advise anybody to purchase there products do to poor customer service and by advertising a lifetime warranty on a product that suits there criteria. Took over 3 months to determine a solution that will benefit Garaga and not the customer.
