Land Art

We used LandArt for a major landscaping project in our backyard. This included a pool installation, sports pad, outdoor kitchen, fence, plants - the whole shabang for a relatively large area. We have dealt with many contractors, since we did a gut-out renovation inside of our home. Even with highly established HGTV contractors, the entire renovation process for inside of our home was extremely stressful and problematic. I was hesitant to start such a huge project again since my assumption was that using a contractor for any job will result in ongoing confrontations and difficulties.

So, let me stress as much as possible that LandArt, Richard (owner) and the entire team ABSOLUTELY BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER. There was absolutely no stress about how they would deal with any of our concerns. Richard, and every single member of his team (as well as anyone working from an outside company) were consistently kind, patient, professional, and simply outstanding. And our project was not without some huge challenges. We designed our entire yard around a huge beautiful maple tree in the middle of the yard, which came crashing down mid construction in the middle of a windstorm. Richard came to our house at 7 am the next day, to assess the situation and came up with a solution within A DAY that I am so happy with. A potentially very difficult situation was handled in such a seamless way, and I say this as someone who was extremely upset about losing this beautiful tree.

Our project is at the tail end stage and not everything is complete. We would never dream about posting one of our reviews until a job was complete, but we know everything will be completed to a T with this company. If you need a backyard renovation done, CHOOSE LANDART. We say this as people who have dealt with so many cocky, difficult, and money-hungry contractors, and as people who have lost a lot of sleep as a result. This company will produce gorgeous, high quality results in a respectul, reliable and and kind manner.

Working with Rich and the team was an absolute pleasure. We recently moved into a home in Cabbagetown and wanted to completely re-design our backyard space for entertaining. Rich took our ideas and vision, and in an honest, fun and approachable way he helped bring them to life. We are thrilled with our backyard hardscaping and stonework, and will definitely be using the LandArt team again in the future.

We had our entire backyard taken from nothing to a dream oasis. Richard and his positive, respectful crew, worked with us until every detail we envisioned was a reality. They began by setting the grades for the entire project including the work to be done by our pool contractor. After that, they created natural retaining for our very sloped yard, constructed a concrete sports pad, laid flag stone, built a natural stone BBQ, fireplace, water fall, and pool house. Their attention to every detail is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. The crew finished by creating beautiful beds and plantings to suit our vision. Some of the things outside of their landscape skill set that we truly appreciated was their daily clean up, their respectful nature to our children and their constant willingness to listen to our thoughts. We would highly recommend Richard and the Landart crew.

Rich and the LandArt team literally took the vision we had for our backyard oasis, improved it and delivered it on time and on budget. We couldn't be happier with the professionalism and artistry the LandArt team brought to our project. I would definitely recommend them!

I hired Richard and his team to help me fix some brick work that was falling apart on our century old home. They did an amazing job that was on time, and at a very high standard. When the time comes I hope to use them on many more future projects.

My front walkway was in need of an update from 1990's decorative concrete, as well as repairing rotting concrete on the front porch pad. The dangerous slippery ski slope that we had needed to go! The "ramp" is gone, replaced by a mortared flagstone pad, a dry-laid flagstone path with guillotined steps, and dry-laid Wiarton Walls and Pillars. Our front walkway is now beautiful. Thanks to Rich, Dennis and team for braving the worst December ever to give us a grand beautiful entrance to our home!
