We bought and renovated a 30 year old home that was quite outdated. My wife and I met with 2 other stair companies and thanks to Home Stars we found SB Hardwood. From the get go Simon was very quick to answer any questions we had, came to see the work required and provided us with a very reasonable quote. When the project started the team was very pleasant, they worked efficiently and completed the project on time. Simon communicated well with us while the project was ongoing. We were also impressed with how well they were able to match the stain on the stairs with our newly installed hardwood floors. Our family and friends are impressed with the stairs and have complimented the workmanship. Thank you for your assistance in reviving this house and making it a home.

I can't say enough about Simon and the team that came to our home (Bogden, Ziggy, and others). I found Simon through the Homestars website when I was looking for someone to refinish three full staircases in our home. Simon was quick to return calls and gave me a 'no surprises' estimate that they stuck to.

Simon and the team are quite busy but were able to accommodate our stair refinish before the Christmas holidays. They arrived on time each day, were very courteous to me and my family, and took care in working around the house with a messy job. They put up plastic to isolate as much of the dust as possible and this was a big benefit.

Simon also helped with a flooring install that we were contemplating ourselves in two additional rooms and worked quickly to finish these for us. In addition, we asked Simon to arrange for one room to be resanded and stained (which he did!)...

The best part of all is the help that Simon was in finishing an install that we had already committed another installer to do. We had another installer that had started the flooring on the upper level (engineered hardwood glue down install) who was behind schedule and commented on the Friday before Christmas that they 'should' be back on Monday to continue working and that they 'should' be done around Tuesday. My family had to move out during the install so this was not acceptable. A call to Simon late on Friday night had a team there on Saturday morning finishing the install from the previous contractor.

Both my wife and I are extremely happy with the work the SB Hardwood did - they are completely professional in their service - they show up when they say they are going to - they stick to the price they quoted - they are respectful and will help wherever they can.

It was a great choice choosing SB Hardwood and will highly recommend their service in the future.

I found Simon by luck, not by referral. It has turned out to be the best desicion ever made about renovation. Simon is very friendly and easy to work with. He gave me a very resonable quote. But the quality of their work was outstanding. His whole team are very punctual and polite. My stairs was a hard piece, needed lots of attention to detail. They handled it very professionally. It was a great experience working with SB hardwood and stairs. I have recommended them to a lot of friends.

Simon and his crew transformed my stairs from an ugly, carpeted nightmare to a beautiful wood dream. They also installed hardwood flooring upstairs In both cases, the price was more than reasonable and I am very happy with the work that was done.
