We were invaded by one of the most persistent and suburban savvy raccoons in existence. We were unsuccessful in evicting him/her for 20 days. It laughed at the one way doors and continue to access our attic.
After some diligent research I found Skedaddle. Ben came the next day and spent a lot of time talking to me about a plan. He used a drone to get clear visuals of any weaknesses etc. These guys were consummate
professionals who respected social distancing and
Lucas entered my home with a suit that looked like it was straight out of a sci fi movie. Lucas scoured the attic in search of babies, the latrine and of course the raccoon. He was successful in confirming no babies were present and he removed the soiled insulation
that could have led to bigger problems. Matt was outside securing the soffits around the downspouts and preparing the one way door setup. Having been traumatized at how unsuccessful one way doors
performed against this raccoon I was trying to be
hopeful. Lucas meticulously crafted a cage/1 way door that fit the contours of the area and when he was done told me it’s not getting in. After 2 days the
raccoon wasn’t able to breach the door and we had reclaimed our attic! I setup a wireless camera in the attic which also had a line of sight at the entry point so I was able to confirm the vacancy. On the second night the raccoon spent 10 hours trying to breach the door taking 5 - 10 min breaks here and there but was
unsuccessful! The next day I had a request to Ben to remove the one way door and finish securing our attic. It was 2pm and it was very unreasonable of me to ask BUT Sarah and Zack came 2 hours later and finished the job! They repaired my soffit and a few other parts of the fascia that needed some securing.
My. Nightmare. Is. Over. If you have ever experienced a raccoon in your attic you can appreciate my words. This has legitimately traumatized me. The Skedaddle team was very empathetic with me and were just straight up amazing ppl to deal with. If you have a raccoon issue call these guys. If you want to talk to me about this I would be more than willing to. I’m laying in bed and my stress levels are going down as we speak. They finished the job today and I’m writing this review today. Thank you Skedaddle - you have no idea at how relieved my family is!
Edit! - we ended up finding babies and they were only identified as they started to make cry/sound for the first time as their mother was prowling a particular part of the roof. Called skedaddle in the morning and an hour later Andrew and Colin came to save the day. We identified the location and Colin went back into the attic to retrieve 4 babies! They placed them in a heated box with insulation from their nest and fixed it at the entry point for the mother to retrieve them today (as I write this I think she got them already!). Thank you, I can’t say enough great things about this company!
