We initially chose GreenFox because our neighbors had a positive experience with them. Unfortunately, our experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, spanning over eight months with issues still unresolved as of October 21, 2024.
Our problems began right from the start. GreenFox placed an order for a window we explicitly said we didnt need and missed the garage man door entirely. When the installers showed up with the unwanted window, they argued with me about installing it, despite me clearly stating multiple times that it wasnt necessary.
The issues continued with our kitchen window. I had specifically requested a box window, even showing our sales rep an example from our neighbor's house. When the installers arrived, they had no idea about the box window and left the project half-finished for six days, exposing the wood to rain and causing water damage. Instead of replacing the waterlogged wood, they argued about it. To their credit, they matched the siding colour to the stucco.
The doors were another disaster. Upon their arrival with the late April window installation, the "privacy glass" was completely see-through. The doors were only painted on one side, despite ordering both sides to be painted. It took them eight weeks to fix these errors, despite claiming it was a "top priority." The front door didnt snap shut and required an adjustment. The strike plates were improperly installed, sticking out by a ½ from the door jamb which caught on clothes and even caused me a painful injury. The standard is ¼. The garage man door was finally installed after a ridiculous delay, and they supposedly "custom made" smaller strike plates that took over a month to arrive. The Novatech people concurred that ½ was too much.
Since the installation, we've been waiting for the energy stickers for the doorsrequired for the Greener Homes Grant energy auditwhich were missing. Multiple calls, emails, and texts have gone unanswered. The door manufacturer says they have this information. As it turns out, GreenFox has not submitted their kit to Novatech for testing which would then produce an energy rating for the doors. The doors that GreenFox installed have an energy rating of zero. This has cost us money from our Greener Home Grant.
We were also promised a $150 admin fee reimbursement related to their financing setup and $300 compensation for the window we didnt want, and as of now, weve received nothing. That promise was made August 8. It is now September 19, no refunds and the unwanted window for which we have been charged has not been returned to us.
GreenFox has been a nightmare to deal with, with a complete lack of accountability, broken promises, and ongoing issues. I would absolutely NOT recommend GreenFox to anyone. In fact, I would actively advise others to avoid them to spare themselves the frustration and disappointment weve endured. We hope should there be issues with these windows and doors in the future, that they honour their warranty, but Im not hopeful.
