We recently purchased our home and had already dealt with a bathroom incident with a poorly installed bathtub that ruined our ceiling, walls and hardwood flooring in our living and dining rooms two months ago. On Thursday I noticed water flooding in our basement coming from our Furnace room.
We called a different plumber that night who came to our home, investigated and told us due to the excessive rain - it was the "weeping tile" outside of our home causing the flooding in our basement and he'd have to dig a 6 foot hole...to investigate asap for a minimum $2800.
We decided to wait overnight and the flooding continued. I called Mr.Rooter at 6am Friday and Domenic arrived by 10am. Domenic thoroughly checked our basement/furnace room and said it couldn't be coming from outside - that it was most likely our water heater due to age. He then turned off our water heater and helped me drain the tank. He was extremely helpful and reassuring as we'd already dealt with enough water damage in our home.
Domenic was correct and our cracked water heater was replaced two hours later by Direct Energy. The water damage stopped. Thankfully we called Mr.Rooter and thankfully Domenic was honest and trustworthy as we were vulnerable and believed it could be another few thousands in repairs. Instead Mr.Rooter charged us nothing and made the right call - as did we! We would definitely recommend Mr.Rooter - and call them again in the future!
