Artistic Concrete Design

Pool has multiple cracks in the deck and the liner has fragments of stone under it. Contractor does not see this as his problem. Not recommended.

Danny and his team did an excellent job replacing the asphalt with concrete . Our new concrete driveway looks very good. We constantly receive compliments on it . Strongly recommended.

Hired this company to do a stamped concrete landing area in front of our porch plus a stamped overlay on concrete floor porch area. Said he would start the job at the beginning of August, 2015, and after multiple emails finally showed up around the 3rd week of September. Should have been my first clue to run. Finally completed the work, the landing area stamping was really not great - color was very blotchy but we could live with that. The porch stamping - 250 sq. ft. was a complete mess. It was supposed to be stamped with the same pattern and color as the landing area - not even vaguely close. Much of the overlay was troweled on with heavy trowel lines throughout, color not even remotely close to the landing area. Said he would come back to try and fix it - he hasn't. Hasn't bothered to response to numerous emails to return to fix his mess and no indication that he intends to do so. Happy to show pictures to anyone that would like an idea of this company's workmanship. They should be ashamed of themselves.

The end result of the job is that it is okay. I wasn't thrilled with the final look of the concrete. The colour was dark than expected. He did come by to address my colour concerns and offered to do what he could to change it but he could only darken it. I should take some responsibility for the colour. I could have shown some pictures of the final look I wanted and ensured he spent more time with me working out exactly what the colour should look like.

He came to measure and the initial quote that came through was for a smaller (less wide) walkway than what we had discussed. (20 inches) vs 36 inches. I noticed it and when they came to do the job I asked about it and he had to requote and it was significantly higher. It may have been an honest mistake or a bait and switch. He seems pretty honest so probably just a mistake or miscommunication. If I had the correct quote from the start I may have used another provider. As it was he turned out to be pretty close to a couple of other quotes I got.

The project was supposed to start by end of June. I think they forgot about our job because I called him mid to end of July to ask when they were coming then things started getting rolling.

For the most part they came when they said they would only time they didn't was when eater was an issue so not their fault.

I wasn't pleased with the clean up afterwards. There is a bunch of gravel left along the side of one of the walkways. They said that it should remain there for drainage. I call BS on that because there isn;t any gravel along the other walkway.

Had they at least cleaned up the site properly. I would have left a better result. But the combination of an iffy colour, late project start and poor site clean up resulted in a lower grade and an unlikelyhood to use them in the future or recommend them to others.

All in all it was okay but could have been better.
