Duct Sealing

AeroSeal GTA was professional, knowledgeable and went the extra mile to ensure my HVAC system was sealed properly. Joe fixed many system problems the home builder left and even identified some other serious issues. When the job was finished, all the house's vents functioned properly and the temperature evened out. Thanks Joe!

Good Job

quite happy with the service overall. Notice the difference more in the winter than in the summer. The upper rooms are much warmer this winter compared to previous ones. less dust around the house overall. you'll be happy with the end results. your floors may be a bit sticky after (if you have hardwood). Professional and polite service from initial communications, to the actual service date, and after. Good job.

Duct repair and sealing

Excellent, highly professional service by Aeroseal GTA Inc. Our 2nd floor was hot in summer/cold in winter. Joe & his young associate were quickly able to locate the problem, fix it efficiently with no damage to ceiling. I could not have asked for better workmanship. As an extra bonus, Joe brought to my attention a potential hazard with an electrical outlet by my furnace installed by my ex (not an electrician). I am recommending this company to all my friends.

House temps balanced!

We bought a new house almost 1 year ago and my in-laws moved into the basement. I do get along with my in-laws so it is a good thing... I installed the Ecobee thermostat and had 5 temperature sensors throughout the house. We were constantly seeing a difference in temperature between the basement and the second floor of 5-10 degrees. It didn't matter summer or winter, trying to keep the basement at a good level left the rest of the house suffering and vise versa. I continued to research ways to balance HVAC systems and eventually stumbled onto Aeroseal in the US. I made the inquiry on their web site and they ended up contacting the Canadian rep who put me in contact with our local guy, Joe. We ended up bringing Joe in because we were desperate to get the HVAC balanced in the house. Joe came in and walked us through the whole process, reviewed a bunch of "builder issues" that needed to be rectified, like installing the heat recovery system backwards so that it was totally useless. We did the sealing process and went from an astounding 707 CFM duct leakage down to 11 CFM leakage. That is a whopping 98% improvement. Within hours of Joe leaving the temps in the house balanced out and we are now seeing a standard difference of between 1-3 degrees difference between the basement and second floor. What a difference, putting the air where it needs to go and not loosing everything inside the walls and floors. I highly recommend Joe and the team. You can sure tell that they are believers in the product and that they know what they are talking about. We were even in the process of getting our windows replaced to see if that would make it better. We are still waiting for windows 8 weeks later but wish that we had have known about Aeroseal before signing the contract for the windows. That would have saved us tens of thousands of dollars. Too bad we are too late to cancel the windows.....

Amazing service by Aeroseal GTA

I have been considering getting my ducts sealed for a while now and after replacing my old windows, furnace and water heater I decided to finally take the plunge. I called a few Aeroseal contractors listed on Homestars and settled with Aeroseal GTA after speaking with Joe. Joe and Tommy showed up on time, and placed tarps on the floors leading to my basement to keep my floors clean. Joe and Tommy spent the first hour removing the old metal foil tape I had used on my ducts many years ago in an attempt to seal my leaky ducts. As Joe and I talked, I discovered that he has electrical engineer experience, sheet metal work and general contracting experience. After plugging all my air registers and sealing off my A/C evaporator coil, Joe attached the collar to my air duct and to his equipment to dispense the sealant. Immediately after Joe started his machine, the basement was filled with a fog of sealant leaking from all the leaks in my duct work. According to his computer I had about 376 CFM equal to a 71 inch square hole at the start of the process to just only 3 CFM at the end of the process!

The airflow from my air registers have definitely increased and there is an even distribution of cool air from my A/C. I will rest assured this winter knowing that the money I spend on heating will be more efficiently distributed in my home.

I believe that the investment in Aerosealing my air ducts will result in lower heating and cooling bills, a more comfortable home and reduced carbon footprint by using less energy. I highly recommend Joe and Aeroseal GTA.

Duct Sealing

Joe & Tommy arrived on time. We did the walk around and Joe viewed my concerns. Throw sheets went down on the steps, basement floor and over electronics (T.V. & laptop). All was going well when the graph indicated an air flow issue. Joe did some investigating and found one supply vent completely separated hidden in the basement ceiling. He re-attached by inserting a sheet metal connection, then continued with the sealing process. Upon completion, air flow was noticeably improved with air reaching waist height on the repaired supply line side of the house. I expect that energy costs going into heating & A/C will improve. Thank you Aeroseal GTA.

Long-standing Problem Solved

Joe at Aeroseal GTA is a wealth of knowledge, expertise delivered with honest and respectful customer service. Since buying my house, I've never had heat or air conditioning reach my 2nd floor master bedroom. After 15 years of getting HVAC professionals to diagnose the problem unsuccessfully, including getting a new furnace, Joe was able to solve the problem in 15 mins! Let them work their magic in your home! A worthwhile investment.

Aeroseal is the Real-deal!

I first saw Aeroseal on This old House. With most technologies, I said I wish this was available in Canada.

As others have stated, I also sealed the ductwork in the basement with foil tape and insulated the ductwork as best I could. It was never as nice upstairs and when climbing up the stairs to the second floor on a warm day you could always tell there was a difference.

Now that the ducts are Aerosealed, what a difference upstairs. I have a nest Thermostat and the Temp is set at 23 Deg when the humidity outside will be 40 Degrees. Temperature by the register near the thermostat is 19 degrees and the temperature on the upstairs bedroom above the garage is 21 degrees. The other bedroom above the porch is also much cooler. My son like most teenagers is gaming for hours in that room and that room is normally as hot as a sauna in the summer. Now it's much cooler and he's not complaining about the temperature.

You will not be disappointed by investing in Aeroseal.

Duct Sealing

Aeroseal GTA and their service was something I had stumbled upon due to a lingering need and frustration I had for years. We had a new multistage furnace installed recently and when it came time to use the A/C, I was pretty disappointed that we were experiencing the same issues; freezing basement and a sauna on the top floor.
I shot them a message and they were here within a week, they informed me I was loosing 309 CFM (the equivalent of a 59 square inch hole) within my walls and floors. After perform the service, the loss had drastically reduced to 7 CFM (the equivalent of a 1 square inch hole)!!!!! My cooling is now evenly distributed amongst all floors! Truly amazing and life changing.
If you are experiencing the same issues (freezing basement, etc) this is an investment you NEED to seriously consider.
Thank you to Joe, Tibo and Tommy.

Amazing! House is now cool in summer and saving $$$$

Heard about Joe Lane and Aeroseal on his guest appearance on NEWSTALK's Home Improvement show with host Frank Cohn. Frank had personally had his home done by Joe Lane to see if his system worked. It does!

We had the equivalent of 88 sq. inches of leaks in our vent work. Joe was pleased at first with the computer measured progress. The leaks went down but stopped decreasing. Joe turned off the glue vaporiser and increased the air pressure and turned on the heat. He then pulled out his heat gun. After a brief bit of dectective work he pointed to a wall from the original house to a long ago built extension. Joe announced confidently: "There is a disconnected vent in this wall" . Sure enough, there were 2 vents (approximately 8" each) that had come apart. All the furnace heating and cooling air was going into a crawl space instead of throughout the house. This had been going on since we moved in 25 years ago. My youngest son was always cold in the winter and boiling in the summer as his bedroom was furthest from the furnace.

Fast forward, Joe did some sheet metal ninja magic. Afer reconnecting the glue vapourizer and the fan, the size of the leak in the vents went down to 1 square inch. Our AC is on way less. Energy consumption is way down. My son is lamented (now that his has moved out) that it took us this long to fixed his old room.

Can't say enough good things about Joe. Strongly recommend you hire him to reduce energy useage, increase comfort (especially summer AC), and significantly reduce cost by as much as 50% or more. Those savings are forever every winter and especially every summer. Thank you. If you want to call me or email me, please reach out to Joe and he has my permission to share my cell # and email. I am also happy to share my computer print out of before and after that measure the initial 88 sq. inch leak and the final 1 sq. inch hole in our duct work. Michael S. at Bayview and Lawrence.
