Moving Office Documents

Needed to book quick move of 75 document boxes from office. Movers showed up with a truck big enough to take 400-500 boxes. This was an issue as only street parking at our building. Driver and worker were unable to deal with on-street parking and were reluctant to cross street with boxes. They left to circle the block. 4o minutes later they finally made it back. I objected to being charged for this time. They did not like my attitude and left. Suggestions for improvement:
1. Match equipment to the size of the job.
2. Use workers who can deal with typical downtown scenario (earlier their was full-sized semi tractor trailer parked in space they considered too small).
3. Complete your contracts.
4. For users -- check homestars - already 3 bad reviews for company here -- wish I had done so.

Worst moving company ever!

I booked with this company to move my family to our new home one month before our move date. I called to confirm 2 times and to make sure they understood all of the large items we had as well to confirm that we could move our belongings from 2 different locations. I spoke with Peter both times and he assured me none of this was an issue. On the day of my move, 3 movers should up to my house. They immediately started to complain about how much stuff there was, that's they wouldn't be able to get this all done in 10 hours and that it was too hot outside. The refused to start working. I immediately got on the Phone with Peter and asked what was going on? He assured me it would be fine. An hour and half went buy with the 3 movers not doing anything but on the phone. I called Peter again and he said he is trying to get them to start but "this is what happens when you contract out." At this point the lead mover came to us and said they were leaving. My husband said they can't leave we have a contract. The lead mover proceeded to rip the contract up in his face. They left and Peter has yet to contact me back. They left me with no movers on the day I was supposed to move. I was forced to rent a uhaul and mo e most stuff ourselves as well I found another company who could move the rest that day for us. This is a terrible business and I am shocked at the extremely terrible customer service. I am still waiting for a call back from Peter.

Horrible experience all around

THEY RUINED OUR FURNITURE and charged us for the time to do so!!

We were stood up by the movers we had booked and called Best Movers Toronto in desperation. We were thrilled and grateful when Peter, the man answering the phone, assured us that someone could come within the hour. A young man named Alex arrived and I showed him what needed to be moved. There was a large, stainless cabinet that he said would be an extra $30 and said it was an extra $30 to take it down the stairs. I agreed and he and an older man, also Alex, started moving. We were completely prepared and the younger Alex said it wouldn't take long at all. (There is a two-hour minimum that is $216 or so.)

About 30-45 minutes into the move, they started moving the cabinet. I heard a loud crash and when I asked, the younger said the older was hurt. No one ever acknowledged the huge hole they had put in the wall, but I was concerned about the injury in the moment. The older man said he was ok, that he would be fine. The younger man spent quite a bit of time on the phone after this and they left the cabinet on the stairway landing. I was told there was a third man on the way to help. The younger man kept saying to me that the older man was 'too old,' that he was not good at this; I felt terrible for the older Alex.

No other person one ever came. They continued to move things very slowly and couldn't move anything upstairs because the stairway was blocked. Finally, with nothing much yet in the truck, they told me that the cabinet was too large. When I told them that it had been moved in without any problem, they said that I had altered the stairway since then. I had not.

I finally agreed that they would not be able to move the cabinet. It was not until they took it off the stairs that my husband and I saw the damage to the cabinet and the corner of the wall - in addition to the large hole. My husband called Peter at the office and tried to explain the situation. Peter told him it was our fault, that we had not told them we had something 'large' to move. When we tried to explain further, to try and make sense out of what was going on, we were told that there was nothing he could do.

I e-mailed photos and a written explanation to Peter and got no response. To make matters worse, the movers would not leave until we paid them - and they charged us for all the time spent on the phone AND for the stairs - $321! We almost called the police - but really just wanted them out of our home as quickly as possible.

Since we moved to Canada, we have been amazed at all of the wonderful people here, at how professional and honest most people - and businesses - seem to be. Our experience with Best Movers Toronto was horrible. The cabinet is still there with huge scratches in the stainless steel. The holes in our wall we will have to pay for.

We are reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau and plan to take them to small claims to court to try and recoup our losses. We are hoping we can find a company to try and fix the damages on the cabinet; otherwise, the damage makes the cabinet not worth moving.

It was a horrible experience in every way.

PS - My antivirus program will not even let me go to their website, bestmoverstoronto.ca. It says it will infect my system with MalWare.

Moving

Very slow and careless. They went way over the quoted price because they worked slowly, but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until after they left that they scratched two chairs, put a small, but visible hole in a leather stool, cracked the bottom of my dresser, and broke a trophy when they dropped a box on the floor. The guy I spoke to was named Sasha, the other guy didn't speak english.
