We hired Tough Construction, Ryan Yiu, to renovate our master bathroom. Work was agreed upon Dec 15th, 2017 and work began Feb 8th, 2018. Ryan promised that the work would be completed in 3 months. On March 8th, 2018 Ryan told us he had to leave to Ontario for a week, but would return. He requested $7000 in advance to build a custom vanity, mirrors and granite counter top. Ryan has never returned nor directly contacted us about completing the work (today we are currently July 7th, 4 months later). He not only abandoned the contract he signed with us to complete our bathroom renovation, but he defrauded $7000 for a promised vanity that he obviously had no intention to deliver. He has never returned any of our phone calls, emails or text messages. There was nothing that occurred prior to his departure, to indicate that he was struggling with us or the work. We found out later that no payments had been made for the vanity that we had paid him for, so we have had to find another contractor to complete his work. We have also had contractors that he hired to do work on our house that he did not pay, who are looking for payment. After waiting several weeks for a response from Ryan Yiu about completing the work, we have struggled to afford to complete the project, since we had paid Ryan the bulk of the funds agreed upon in our contract. Work uncompleted: Custom vanity, 2 custom mirrors, sinks, 3 doors and installation, baseboard install, tub, toilet and shower install, light install, painting.
