This past summer, I noticed some water seeping into my basement during rainstorms from a crack along the wall. I called a few companies to give some quotes to have it be repaired. I ended up going with Direct Waterproofing for a few reasons:
1) Terry (who did the initial assessment) was very knowledgeable and friendly. He walked me through the repair process and was honest about it not being particularly urgent. I felt like he gave me sound advice all the way through without ever being pushy.
2) On the outside of my house, the foundation was near a shed. Some of the other companies I got quotes from told me that I should disassemble/move the shed before their arrival (which is not a small task). Terry explained that the shed probably would not need to be moved, and that his team would deal with it if it became a problem. The day they did the job, indeed the team was able to demonstrate that they had ample room for the crack to properly be dealt with without moving the shed.
3) Terry quoted a very fair price. I was able to haggle some of the other companies down to this price, but I appreciated the competitive (but not questionably so) price from the get-go. I got the quote during the early summer but wanted to move forward with the work later in the year. When I reached out in November, the team had no problem honouring the quote they had given me months prior.
As for the work itself, the crew (John and Walter) were friendly and efficient. They showed me their progress at various stages, took pictures to share with me, and cleaned up after themselves. I had pretty much a great experience from start to finish, and will definitely reach out to Terry again if I want to get similar work done!
