Fix it Females

I absolutely LOVE our new retaining wall. The crew was responsive to our requests for changes as the job went along and it looks amazing. There were many snags in the process. A late start means the work couldn't be completed in the late fall due to temperature. This meant a temporary wall was in place from Nov through to July because of Covid. The plan was changed from concrete/stone wall bricks to wood, the price changed, additional work was added (stairs) It cost more than I wanted but I LOVE the finished product and I LOVED working with the company. Having an all female crew working on my place was SO nice. They were friendly and explained what they were doing, asked good questions so we could make informed decisions. Many thanks for our new entrance!

We had many small jobs around the house - fixing ripped screen windows, fixing holes in the drywall, building a structure to support a baby gate, fixing the caulking around tubs and showers, paint touch ups, etc. Basically two full days of work. Donna was extremely professional and efficient, and did a great job with all of the house projects that had been driving me mildly crazy. The house looks great and it was a pleasure to work with her and with Fix It Females!

They took a wall down and built a custom-made bulk head and a transition piece for the floor.

They were organized, efficient, punctual, and extremely helpful. The crew were all super and cheerful and polite and I would definitely use them again. I loved that they sent an update at the end of every workday detailing what they had done that day and what was happening the next day. No contractors I’ve had in before for other jobs did this and I found it very reassuring since I was at work most of the time that they were on site.

They turned my tiny, toxic bathroom into one that is pleasing - amongst other tasks, tearing out a mildewed ceiling and lowering it to the proper height, and installing new floor and surround tiles, which they helped me choose because I had no time to hunt for tiles. Thank you, fix it females!

Saw the ad for their services on the bus and thought we would give them a try. Was really glad we did. Our kitchen looks amazing and we have compliments from our friends.

We had a really negative experience with this crew. This was probably a good team at the beginning but as they've expanded they have hired staff who just did not have the skill to do the job. After 'leveling' our basement floor, we had to hire someone else to fix the the shoddy work they had done (they literally took buckets of cement and threw it across the floor - it ended up being less leveled than before). Having heard the way the boss speaks to her team, I am not surprised she speaks to her customers that way too. Unfortunately unable to take responsibility for the bad job they had done.

We had Stacey and her crew paint our nieces bedrooms in the colors they wanted and the kids just loved it. Very professional and prompt service I could recommend to anyone.

Sadly, I would not recommend this company; I was really hoping to give this company a solid review as I was happy to support women in trade however I am deeply disappointed; the contractual obligations were not fulfilled and the contractor walked away without completing the work; the customer service and professionalism was extremely poor; the workmanship was moderate but very slow moving compared to other renovations I have had completed in the past; materials were used from storage in my back yard instead of being newly purchased and the contractor did not purchase new paint but instead used my paint that was 10 years old to finish the walls; drywalling and mesh was not completed properly; I ended up being responsible for completing the clean up on my own and for a person with a disability this created an additional undue hardship. Again, sadly I would not recommend.
