General Contractors review in Toronto

The owner of Chicasa, Mo, is one of the nicest contractors (or people in general) I have met, which is hard to come by these days. He completed a whole home renovation for us last year which lasted about 4-5 months. The house ended up looking great and we receive compliments on it all the time. Mo is knowledgeable and actually helps do the work himself. Looking out for his clients' best interest, he is always honest, patient and can be trusted.

Even months after the renovation completed, Mo guarantees his work and repairs anything that needs to be fixed. You can tell he is passionate about construction and cares about his clients so much that they end up becoming his friends, which I have really appreciated. I would highly recommend Chicasa as a general contractor for any renovation work.

I am disappointed with Chicasa as they have ignored our calls and requests to complete repairs for over half a year now. It seems they have either gone out of business or have chosen to not honour their contract to guarantee their work even after 1 year post-renovation.

I initially gave them a positive review due to being pressured by one of the partners to give them a 10/10. But since then, they have disappeared and been unprofessional. Not only that, they were 5 weeks late and told us the night before we were supposed to move into our home that they weren't going to finish the reno. They asked for 1 more week and promised 100 percent completion but that never happened. They ended up doing a sloppy job toward the end which is why I had to request fixes here and there.. and still it was far from perfect. I see shortcuts taken everywhere and they charged us alot. They were even dishonest and just changed the glass of a door instead of giving us a brand new door that we paid for thinking that we wouldn't notice.. but I chose to overlook it as I wanted to deal with bigger issues at the time.

They kept saying they were busy with other projects every time they were scheduled to repair something... what client wants to keep hearing that or why should I care? I tried to be nice and understanding but at some point, they took advantage of it and made it an excuse. I chose them partially because they guaranteed their work after the job was done.. now that they have gone missing in action and ignoring my calls, I am now worried for what would happen if something big broke, especially since they ended doing a sloppy job at the end due to them rushing. I do not recommend Chicasa as a result.
