Disconnected electric source for a renovation.
The electrician was here for five mins and did a very simple electrical disconnect. He says he even gave us a discount but with tax the bill was over $135!!!!!! He also didn’t even take or ask if we wanted the light fixture removed (which we did) and by the time I noticed he already had the ladder put away.
- Approximate cost of services:
- $140.00

Hi Nicole,
We are very disappointed to find out this way that you are unhappy with the work that was completed. You had contacted our office and we immediately sent out an Electrician to do the work requested. Yes, the light fixture was left attached to the pergola, but as we understood it the fixture was no longer wanted so we left it to be demo'd with the pergola. If that was not the case and you wanted the fixture removed and kept, we of course would have been happy to pull it down for you, even if that meant you noticed after we left. We would certainly have made a return service call at no charge to you.
Regarding the cost of the service call, our shop minimum is $150 +HST for labour. We did give you a discount of $30, making your total $120 +HST. We gave you this discount because as discussed on site, our company truck was at our mechanics, and thus we did have to borrow your ladder to complete the work. We would usually never schedule work without our truck and ladders available, but you said that your project was on a very tight time frame so we did our best to accommodate that by coming out right away and using your ladder. (We did not know until we were on site that a ladder would be required as we didn't know the exact placement of the light fixture.)
We have reached out to you beyond this reply and hope that you will contact us so this can be resolved to your satisfaction. Our Clients are why we are in this business and having great, long-term working relationships with them is what we enjoy most about our work. Please contact our office at your earliest convenience to discuss in further detail.
Thank you.
