Chris @ Aephli Contracting came to the rescue when we had a roof leak. He replaced the whole bedroom ceiling and also another area in the kitchen that required the drywall to be replaced. It was done to perfection in minimal time and disruption.

Aephli Contracting really helped us get a beautiful laundry area for a reasonable price. Chris was excellent at making recommendations to help us along. I'm going to keep the 10/10 party going for AEPHLI and their job transforming our unfinished walkout basement into a great legal apartment, which we're currently renting out to a happy tenant! All the 10s may seem weird and I was skeptical too but these guys deserve it. There are a lot of bad contractors out there, and many satisfactory ones who do the bare minimum, so relatively speaking Chris and Brad are exceptional!

I'll get some of the minor hiccups out of the way: The project was completed later than promised and it did go slightly over budget. But when you're building and designing a completely unfinished basement apartment that's to-code, it can take longer than expected with the city and involve unexpected costs, so it's forgivable considering how great the apartment turned out.

Major points scored for:
Communication - For me and my wife, communication was very important going in. And Chris was constantly in touch and filled us in on everything. He was also accessible and responded to questions/concerns right away by text. There was also no confusion on progress or timelines.
Focus - Chris and his brother only focus on one project at a time, which was an important factor for us, because they're devoted to your needs and not distracted by other priorities.
Thorough - Chris was great at explaining everything. Very detailed and did not cut any corners. Took the time needed to get the job done.
Finished product - It was exactly what we wanted. It was completed as promised. Clean, modern-looking apartment. Many compliments from everyone that came through.
Cost - We interviewed many contractors. AELPHI's quote was fair and on the lower end of the spectrum. Great value, in my opinion.

So would I recommend them... absolutely, yes. If you're not sure, do your homework and interview as many contractors as it takes until you're comfortable.

We were extremely pleased with the work done by Chris and his team. Delivered a great finished product for what he said it would cost. He also cares a lot about his work and making the customer happy. I would highly recommend him without hesitation. We will use them again for sure !

We recently completed a major design and build project in our 1460 sq.ft basement using Aephli contracting and we must say we are extremely satisfied with the results. We had pretty good idea about what we wanted but had no idea how much better it would turn out due to efforts of team at Aephli contracting. We were looking at one stop design and build solution. After our first meeting with Chris, the owner at Aephli contracting, we knew we found the right person for the job. Now I can say confidently that Chris has executed our vision of the basement to the T. His attention to detail is spectacular, not a single corner missed out on. With a 15 months old at home, he ensured that noise levels would not bother us and always informed in advance if there was going to be extreme noise. The job site was kept crystal clean every single day.
Lastly Chris is not only a great contractor but also a very good human being.

Chris, thanks for transforming the bsmt into a livable area. We had to gut the bsmt due to water/moisture damage. After interviewing several other contractors, Chris discovered the reason for the damage and provided a thorough quote - completing the project within our budget. His work speaks for itself. He was a pleasure to deal with and have already spoken about future projects.

We needed a repair done to our old popcorm ceiling. Chris was the only contractor who came in and suggested upgrading the room at the same time. He communicated his schedule everyday, let us know how things were progressing, and he did an excellent job. We are so happy with his work we have asked him to quote another project for us.

It was such a pleasure working with Chris. He was very responsive and extremely helpful in making selections, providing ideas and suggestions. He was very thorough, accommodating and professional! The work area was always kept clean and he stayed on budget. The whole experience from consultation to completion was amazing. It is evident he takes pride in his work. There were a couple small hiccups along the way (as expected) but Chris goes above and beyond to make things right. We love our new ensuite bathroom, walk-in closet with archway to bedroom....and new kitchen pot lights and pendants. Thanks for everything Chris. Will definitely call again for future projects!
