Surprisingly disappointing, particularly given the other Homestar ratings on the basis of which we had opted for MaidPro.
1. When Jonathan confirmed the cost by email, it was higher than what he had quoted when I was at the Thornhill location. I contacted him regarding this, he apologised, and provided a revised quotation. Had I not noticed, however, the higher price would have prevailed.
2. Although certain aspects were done very well, even immaculately in a given area, others remained untouched (e.g., in the bathroom – see photos of 2 examples attached). My wife and I both have significant health problems and were advised to have the house “professionally” cleaned since we were hoping to sell it. The work was done on Friday, June 14, 2019 and we spent the entire weekend doing our best to do what hadn’t been done by Maidpro. We had been informed that any additional work and time required by MaidPro would need our prior approval, which we’d gladly have provided to get everything done properly. However, the 2 ladies simply left after the quoted time. Consequently, one must assume that from MaidPro’s perspective the unsatisfactory result we were left with isn’t unusual.
3. One of the ladies knocked over and broke a vase containing a priceless orchid which – unlike others – bloomed each season. Given our disappointing experience otherwise as well, I had simply asked Debbie to process the payment and “we’ll consider the matter closed”. She emailed the invoice. If I had questions, I was to contact her. On June 22, 2019 I followed up with “some possible future food for thought” via email, stating: “Especially given MaidPro’s favourable HomeStars ratings, we found our particular experience quite surprising (e.g., it was both interesting and disconcerting that not even a simple apology was minimally forthcoming from anyone at MaidPro after what happened). Several others had considered enlisting MaidPro’s services, but now no longer are.” The work was done in mid-June 2019; so far (i.e., now early August 2019), however, there’s been nothing further.
It seems that even Homestar ratings do not necessarily reflect the experience of all concerned with a particular business, as we’ve experienced first-hand.
