Ward Group

This was our second project with Ward Group and what a terrific experience it was. From start to finish, we were so impressed with their work ethic, level of skill and their ability to work as a team with not only each other but outside tradespeople. The core team consists of an electrician, plumber, drywaller, tiler and fine carpenter who are all masters of their trades and produce high quality finishes. Jorden and AJ are multi-talented and kept the project moving along and tied all the trades together. They were able to work seamlessly on an established timeline. Daily communication about goals and expectations were the norm. They also worked flawlessly with other tradespeople for fireplace and kitchen installation. They cleaned daily and went above and beyond to make our space livable during the project. We are so pleased with the results and thank them for turning our home into a place we can continue to live in for many years. We would recommend Ward Group without hesitation and look forward to working with them again.

We decided to finish our basement this year and hired WardGroup to create and renovate the bathroom and kitchen space for us. The work was completed quickly and properly. They were kind, respectful and flexible when dealing with me and completing the work. We are very happy with our basement unit now and will be hiring again to renovate the upstairs. They had great suggestions. I highly recommending WardGroup to anyone looking for do a bathroom and/or kitchen renovation in the future.

We are beyond thrilled with the project completed by Ward Group. From start to finish there were open and honest discussions, daily goal setting and reviews and clear expectations. Timelines were met, there were no gaps in trades and no downtime. Each and every sub-contractor was experienced and had an extremely high level of expertise demonstrating perfection in every area of framing, plastering, tiling, electrical installation, plumbing, cabinetry and painting. Jorden Merricks has assembled a very highly qualified team that work well together. As a group they are focused, extremely hard working, pleasant and caring. Our home remained almost dust free throughout due to carefully placed barriers, floor coverings and daily cleaning. They have turned a 1950s bathroom into a modern, functional, accessible and beautiful space. The bathroom and living space we envisioned came to life with their tireless efforts and input. We would highly recommend Ward Group to anyone with a project in mind.

We were so lucky, and happy, that we called the Ward Group when we found out that our home needed a serious structural repair. We had been feeling worried and anxious, but from the very first meeting with Austin we felt reassured and confident that the Ward Group had the experience and expertise to do the job. It was such a pleasure to work with Austin, Jorden (Austin’s sister) and A.J. There was excellent communication at each and every step of the process. Even though our job was a small job compared to other Ward Group projects, we felt respected and valued as customers and always sensed that our job was just as important as any other projects which were underway. Austin and his team did a great job. They worked diligently and delivered everything we agreed on. They showed up on time every morning. They kept everything inside and out clean. When they left, the job was finished to the tiniest details, trim and paint completed as well. Austin followed up with plans and made the city inspection a breeze. The whole team work nicely together they are very pleasant to be around. We are very happy with the work done, we would choose them again!

Abbas and his team handled a relatively difficult deck repair project extremely well. Abbas understood the requirements and provided some good suggestions on how to improve the overall result.

They were super knowledgeable and provided great support to us all along the way, from design to material choices to finishing touches. The project management aspect was great, we always felt like we were informed about the process and the upcoming steps. The site was left really clean, which was important to us as we were living there during the renovation and had a baby at home.

The time had come to update this nearly 100 year old home semi in the Beach. I used HomeStars to research and then reach out to my selected contractors; HomeStars then added a few of its one, and one was Ward Group. Great first meeting with Austin and Andrew, and while their ultimate quote was slightly higher than others I received, they brought something to that first meeting that none of the others did and that was critical thought to what I wanted to do. A lot of "yes no problem" from the others; Austin and Andrew noted where what I wanted to do might cause real issues.

In a nutshell this was a gut of upper and main floors; resizing and complete rework of upper floor bathroom; new staircases; excavation, underpinning and full finishing of basement, including new 3-piece bathroom; new front porch and yard landscaping.

A great level of communication and workmanship was brought to this project, from the architect and engineer to Shawn, Tommy and AJ on the ground, all of whom took care in what they did and where they were doing it, including in all dealings with my neighbours, about which I can't express enough gratitude. They also worked well with the designer for the project; no butting of heads. All was was done safely and as promptly as could be done during COVID, timing was only thrown off slightly. And aside from a couple of blips that the house itself threw into our plans where something needed adjusting, all of the changes in the work scope came from me, so no negative surprises at all, only positive.

I'd highly recommend this crew for anything you're planning, big or small, but they're on to my deck next!

From quote to completion The Ward Group team brought professionalism and commitment to the project.
Andrew and Austin were always available to discuss items as they came to light. Shawn/AJ were a pleasure to work with on a daily basis.
Project included a full gut of the main floor, moving kitchen, installing new bathroom, new staircase, flooring on main floor and upstairs. As with any old home, surprises were hidden behind the walls, but these issues were handled with ease.
Thank you to the whole team, I love my new space.
