Basement renovation in West Vancouver

We signed a contract with a corporation operating as Infinite Basements in the Metro Vancouver area and in the Sechelt area to renovate our basement. The contractor abandoned the project and left it substantially unfinished. We obtained a judgement for his corporation at the small claims court but by then the corporation was dissolved. Please be very careful when giving money to this contractor. He left significant deficiencies and unpaid trade bills. Check the small claims court on line for other projects in dispute.

BEWARE of poor workmanship

BEWARE....BEWARE BEWARE..I hired this company to do new vinyl on my home and enclose my garage. he walked off the job after taking 3months to finish and still didn't complete the work and was paid $30,000 to date... He has cost me an additional over $15,000 and counting to fix all his mistakes and repair all his damages. He has left the vinyl unfinished, during the recent wind storm the vinyl was FALLING off the side of my house... he installed all the window frame work without flashings, left my windows to start leaking, peeled back my roofing material on my roof to exposure it and left it exposed throughout all of Dec/Jan/Feb...and caused roof leaks, was running wiring and doing full electrician work without being a ticketed electrician, ran wires into my electrical box and doubled them up so 2 different lights would short each other out. he ran a pipe through a wall that has been leaking continuously and rotted the wall and all the new structure. He has threatened to sue me for defamation to keep me from sharing my story but I have nothing to hide. I can prove every single claim I am making, I am telling the truth and I am not his only victim.. look up one of the many other businesses he has owned over the past 15years and you will find other examples. try GHT Contracting in Calgary (CTV News did a story on him there).. Or Taylormade Contracting,or Infinite Renovations or All things REnovations... the list is endless and as GREGG himself has said to my lawyer, I cant touch him... cause he protects himself behind his business and will just go bankrupt if you try and sue him or he will countersue for "Defamation" or "Tortious" interference... He writes into his contracts that you have NO right to give him bad reviews online and even tries to write into his contract that you don't have the right to counter sue him... this is against the law... I have had CTV NEWS at my house doing a story about all his shotty work and issues he left me with.. it is all clearly documented... I have the right to rate this person based on the work they did and that is what I am doing here.. if you want more info, look up CTV NEWS Vancouver, renovator beware.. or look up CTV Calgary for GHT Contracting... watch out, he is charming and comes across like he knows what he is doing, sadly this has cost me a lot... feel free to ask me for any proof of my claims, I have had a certified and reputable company come and do a full inspection of his work and a full report of all the deficiencies including a list of areas where he did not do the work to BC CODE and or totally wrong.. I did all the right things to find a good contractor, I checked their reviews, asked lots of questions, but they just don't protect you from people like this who will just start a new company when they mess up.

Company Response

This review is highly questionable. I am far from perfect and have made mistakes in the past but this project was not one of them. Kristin had fired 2 contractors after just a few days. prior to hiring my comoany. She was ecstatic with all of the work done until I had to leave her project because of late payment and constant scope of work changes. We had a detailed payment structure with she was constantly late on. We had a detailed scope of work in with she was constantly trying to change and add additional items that were not agreed upon. In my standard agreement there are set out rules on how to deal with conflict and going online isn't one of them. I attempted to resolve this issue be getting her to agree on what the scope of work was and she wouldn't. After contacting CTV to try to hurt my company image, I corresponded with them on what actually happened and they chose not to run the story. Kristin has been vindictive throughout this process and is lashing out. the fact that she has spent $15000 to finish the project actually shows how good of a deal she was getting. She had $12000 left owing in the agreement and understandably there was more work to be done.

Basement leak

Gregg from Infinate Basement came out to our house to to give us a plan and estimate on how to approach our leaking basement issue. The plan made sense to me so we when ahead with Greg after talking to two other companies. Gregg was able to start work almost immediately, he arrived on time (actually early) and ready for work. The job was completed earlier then planned and on budget. The clean up from this rather messy job was so meticulous that I think the yard looked better after the work! I was impressed and would definitely recommend Infinity Basement for your basement needs.
Thanks Gregg!

Construction of fences and pergola.

Gregg visited us within hours of initial contact. He provided many ideas of the various types of fences and pergola. The style we selected looks impressive and does not impair our ocean view. The work was completed over three days and we were extremely impressed with Gregg's quality of work and attention to detail. We would not hesitate to recommend Gregg.

Basement Legal Suite

We had our vacant basement converted into a suite at the start of the year with construction just finishing. Infinite basements took a run down, vacant space and converted it into a gorgeous 2 bedroom suite, full kitchen, insuite washer/dryer and its own entry way. I was astonished how Greg was able to accomplish this feat; but he did. I would recommend Greg to my family and friends due to his professionalism, finishing the job on time and the high quality of the project.

Very Satisfied. I was impressed how organised the process was.

We werent sure what to expect. We have never done a renovations like this but I was impressed how every stage was carefully calculated. Our basement was cleaned up every evening so we could easily walk down there with our kids and see the progress. It seemed like a bigger job than we originally thought but Infinite Basements had everything planned and figured out. Thanks a lot Infinite Basements.

Basement renovation

This summer we spent months looking for a contractor to build our basement. We did a great deal of research, interviewed builders carefully and continually looked at options offered by on the internet. We selected the company we felt would do the best job for us - Infinite Basements. Lucky for us, they turned out to be exactly the professional, focused, fair and friendly basement builder we were hoping to find. We chose to work with Greg because we needed someone who would work with us. When we started the process the basement was about 10% finished and we knew that we would have a ton of changes to make to the basement. Infinite Basements were always very patient and incredibly helpful to us as we explored different options for the basement. They did a great job of helping us visualize these options as well as taking the time to walk us through them. Additionally, they contacted us all the time to keep us abreast of everything going on with our home. Most important, we wanted a builder that was focused, responsive and detail-oriented. We are detailed people and needed someone who would execute all of our work with a goal close to perfection. We met our match with the Infinite Basements. Their craftsmanship was impeccable and delivered a product that they stand behind.

We found InfiniteBasements really care. They were always available and always looked out for our best interests. We believe they did provide the best quality basement for the best price. We would hire them again without any hesitation and we strongly recommend them to our friends as family as the best home basement builder in town

Basement Suite

Infinite Basements did a great job. They were very professional, flexible and supportive. They worked with us on additional requests we made during the project and even with the additional job they managed to finish the job within their 10 week schedule, met all our expectations and provided a quality product we are proud of. We were happy to have them on our project. I would hire them again and recommend them to anyone.
