Backyard renovation

We hired Bill to renovate our backyard, and it included stamped concrete and a gazebo. Bill was extremely hard to communicate with and had no manners in how to talk to clients. Every time my mother or myself asked him any update about the project or when he was going to arrive at the job site, he would bully us. It was impossible to ask anything of him. He claimed that the job was done without sealing the concrete, and wanted extra cash if we wanted him to do that. I only decided to write review because even at the end of the project, he behaved very rude with my mother and walked off without completing what he was suppose to do. He was already paid so he didn't care. I would never recommend such contractor who doesn't know how to treat his clients or keeps asking for more cash whereas it should've been included deal.

Approximate cost of services:
$18,000.00

Company Response

Dear "Private User"
Thanks for your feedback - we are always looking to get everyone's entitled perspective, but we need to be clear about a few things:
- This project was proposed and re-quoted multiple times, and even after approval by the head of the family, those responsible for completing the transaction with AWC continued to look for ways to reduce the price, eventually leading to an unpaid balance of taxes which are still owing.
- In terms of communication, client service and project updates, I provided this client with a direct contact in order for AWC to focus on the field work. I was however faced with unbearable micro-managing while picking up material and handling other matters related to this project. It was never discussed that we would be on a fixed schedule on site and this showed a lack of respect for the professionals who worked very hard to complete the project.
My perspective on this is that the client did not respect the scope of work that was approved and continued to demand more. I am proud to say that we delivered excellence on time, with finished pictures to match the drawings submitted with the scope of work (along with free additions for a beautiful back yard). I am sure this client continues to enjoy the landscape we created for them.
Thank you,
Bill.
