Furnace diagnostic/partial repair
My furnace stopped Jan.6/2020. I called for a service technician at 1:45 PM. I was told the charge would be $89.95 + tax. The technician arrived at 5:30PM and left at 6:30PM and issued me an invoice for time and a half as the call went into overtime. Charge was $152.49 and no heat that night but the technician said he needed to be paid so I paid the invoice.
The technician came back Jan. 7 at 3:00PM and left at 5:30PM and still no heat but gave me an invoice for $494.37 that he said I needed to pay for and that he would come back the next day. I was not informed of the $165.00/hour furnace repair rate and had assumed that $89.95 was the company rate.
Jan.8 I called and cancelled the service and tried to communicate the issue with customer service at the Energy centre to no avail. I called my bank and stopped payment on the credit card til I could get some resolution for the problem. Energy Centre has responded to the dispute insisting the chargeback is invalid. I offered to pay $120.49 for the diagnostic invoice since the arrival time of the technician should have been earlier in the day. I also offered to pay $240.00 for the 2.5 hours spent on repairs that didn't get the furnace running.
I a a senior and very unhappy with the final resolution that is going to have the full amount charged to me reversed and back to this company.
