Extremely disappointed and unhappy with our home inspection. Numerous issues were not brought to our attention! Some very severe! We are out thousands and thousands of dollars and still ongoing. Complete negligence on their part. We have explained our concerns with them and have been simply offered our inspection fee back. Would never recommend this company!

Jason has been thorough with the inspection, and detailed in his explanation about his findings. With all the flaws that he identified, Jason provided comments on how serious they are, and what kind of attention will be needed for a future owner. This really allows us to have an overall understanding of the property and make a quite informed decision.

Would not recommend. On a positive note, Jason was here on time, was very personable and sent the report to us the following day. Unfortunately, he missed the fact that the house is full of mice! One glance into the attic reveals plenty of evidence of droppings and tunnelling all through the insulation,not to mention the poison set out in the basement. We also have issues with flooding when it rains with water pooling beside the house and seeping into the garage. Again, the evidence is right there with water stains on the foundation walls and caulking where someone has tried to remedy the problem and frankly, the list goes on. Needless to say, had these issues been brought to our attention, we would not have proceeded with the purchase. We have sent two emails to Glen/Jason and neither have been responded to. Amerispec were recommended to us by the realtor who was also the listing agent, another hard lesson learnt there. So to summarize, if you just want a piece of paper to show your lender, I'm sure they're fine, however, need more than that,look elsewhere. SS

We had a great experience with Glenn. The inspection lasted about 3 hours. He first went in with his son and took pictures, took notes, etc. and then they did a walk thru with us and showed us everything they found and shared concerns, etc. We did the tour with Glenn while his son was putting together all the images, etc so we can see places we couldn't go. That was until 5PM. We left with a binder and lots of coupons for stores in our new neighbourhood. By 6AM the next morning, the whole report was in my inbox. I was able to send it to our parents and see what they think :) I would highly recommend them !

I just bought my first home and of course before closing the deal I had to do a home inspection to make sure I wasn't buying a lemon. Dan from Amerispec in Durham region was great - arrived on time, got straight to work checking out the house attic to basement looking for evidence of anything of concern and explaining to me every step of the way what he was looking for and why. He took the time to explain key home maintenance tasks to keep in mind and what to do if I ran into problems, which I greatly appreciated being a first time owner. He took plenty of photos and the report was completed and printed right there in the house - packaged in a big binder filled with great home owner tips - all in just under 2 hrs. In the end I was left with a secure feeling that my new house had been thoroughly inspected and I'm confident going into my purchase.

My wife and I purchased a new home in August 2008 (well new to us, but it was 18 years old) and so, we opted to have a home inspection as part of our contract.

Our Realtor recommended Amerispec, and said he had worked with the Newmarket office in the past, so after comparing prices and reading details of what was and was not inspected on various companies websites, we opted to give them a call.

On the day of the inspection, the inspector arrived early, and began inspecting the roof even before we arrived, he did a fairly thorough job and gave us a very detailed report, which included not only the results of the inspection, but helpful information on maintenance we may want to do and how often, or roughly how long we have until certain things needed to be replaced.

I would definitely recommend Amerispec to anyone considering purchasing a home!
