I made a service appointment and fortunate to get same day. The techinician arrived 1 hour early, which was okay as I was home. Two men arrived, one was in training, which I was notified of and was okay with. It was explained there would be a $189 charge to unclog the drain pump as that was likely the issue. At no point did they hook up any machine to diagnose the problem, I know this as I stayed there with both of them. Leaivng the room briefly to make a 3 minute phone call. If it wasn't clogged it would be the part. Not like I have a choice as they are there and so I agree expecting it would be a service call of $79 and drain pump if that was what was needed or $189 to unclog the drain pump. Apparently .... It was $189 for unclogging AND $149 for the pump OR they could leave and I'd just pay the $79 service call. When the tech expressed I needed a new pump as well they had already put the machine together?! Why put it back together until the homeowner has been approved of the expense? I had removed the back cover of the machine to check the belt prior to making an appointment and they left without replacing it. The total time the techs spent here was approimxately 50 - 60 minutes.
One of the men stunk of terrible armpit body odour, so much so that I had to leave the laundry room door propped open for a while after they left. When communcating with each other in my presence they did not speak English in MY home. Both men spoke fluent English without an accent of any kind.
This is not only rude, but suspicious. I was very upset at this entire experience that I paid the $79 and don't have my washing machine fixed.
Neither of the technicians were rude to me, however, overall it was a really bad experience and I would NOT recommend them.
I've called around today and looked online for a new part and NOBODY sells it for less than $210 CAD, when they stated the part to be $149. In speaking with a local part company he suggested the part was most likely used, when that was never expressed to me as his cost is $200.
I went down the next day to look at my washer to find the door closed and 2" of water sitting in the bottom. I called in to the company to let them know all that went wrong and all the Manager really had to say was I can send someone out to fix it. I replied that I would not have them come again and I was calling to let him know how this service call went wrong. The Manager did not have any empathy or understanding. never hiring this company again.
