Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!!!!

If you're getting some work done that is a day or so long, it's your call but if you want to get a basement or major renovation done, NEVER hire these guys!!!!

I had recruited these guys back in November. During the initial walk through, Kris had said it'll take 3 to 3.5 weeks. I was fine with it because all jobs are delayed by one thing or another. There were times where he'd say they be at my place by 8, but would show up at noon. I nicely called them out on this and just asked them to call me or text me in those cases so I'm not left guessing. At week 4, I told him how long more and during the conversation he said that my job was rushed, without him taking into account when he didn't show up for twice for the entire day.

The Friday before Christmas, he said he'd be back on boxing day and would need a couple days to finish up the work. The next morning, part of my basement was flooded because these guys hadn't tightened a nut on one of the pipes. I called and texted him numerous times and he didn't respond. The water had gone into my laminate flooring which was bubbling up. When he finally called me, he said he can't come that day but will come on Tuesday, a full 3 days away! I told him we need to remove some of the laminate, otherwise mold will set in. But he told me not to. That was the last conversation we had, he didn't show up on Tuesday. I called and texted him all day but he didn't pick up. Finally at 11PM when he messaged me that he didn't have his phone for a day, then I texted him back asking what the plan is, he never responded after that. Finally on Wednesday, 4 days after the flood in my yet to be finished basement, I told him if he doesn't contact me, we're done with him. He still didn't call.

I've paid him according to the schedule that he had asked me, and by that time, most of the payment was already done. I made sure I was able to accommodate them as much as I could. But Kris was so unreliable, I wonder how he's getting good ratings online. If you need a handy man to do a day job, he may be good. But to finish a basement, I would never recommend him.

I had to remove the laminate myself, and then had to hire someone else to finish it up. And had to pay extra to complete it than I had originally budgeted.

I'd never again get this company to do any work. And would never recommend them either. Writing this so people are beware.

If I could give K construction a negative rating, I would.

The work involved re-tiling the backsplash, ceiling and lighting changes as well as installing the exhaust hood and fan for the range with all related electrical and plumbing work for the range and sink etc.

K Construction team did a very thorough job with attention to detail in completing the project.

I needed a bedroom door replaced and contacted K Construction. Kris responded immediately and gave me a reasonable quote in the morning. His partner Paul, picked up the new door and had it replaced that same evening. Paul worked quickly and efficiently and tidied up everything afterwards. Very pleasant and knowledgeable.
I would definitely recommend them. I have
already asked them to give me a quote on another project.

Kris was recommended to me by a friend when I got my new condo and wanted to remove the carpets. He helped me choose the right flooring and didn't take shortcuts(it was a tricky project since the condo has a asymmetrical layout). I was very pleased with the quality of work AND customer service. Would refer to anyone.
