** Took our money under misrepresentation & DID NOT DO ANY WORK! **

Jeremy told us everything we wanted to hear, especially with the promise of a quick start. We provided our deposit of $1,500 via e-transfer on April 14th 2021 as he was going that same day to purchase the material and advised he would start that weekend.

I followed-up with Jeremy to see if he purchased the material, he said he would purchase it the next day. Next day came and when I followed up, I was told again that he would purchase the material the next day.

That weekend came, Jeremy was a no show and we didn’t receive any communication from him either! I texted, called and got no response, so I sent him a message on Facebook. He said he would call me, but never did.

We sent him an email requesting our refund, as he seems to be busy and we would like to find another contractor. He communicated back that he needs 2-3 weeks, which was the first time we heard from him on a new timeline. We asked that since no material was purchased and no work has been done, we would like our deposit back. He advised we would lose the deposit if we terminate the contract.

The estimate/contract we received from Greymax does not have any stipulations or conditions and at no point in our dealings with Jeremy did he advise us if the work did not proceed that our deposit would not be refundable.

This contractor knows exactly what he is doing in order to deceive people of their money. He tells you exactly what you want to hear, misrepresenting in order to get your money and just enough so he thinks you won’t take him to court, because it will cost you more.

This contractor will likely use excuses such as the weather and lockdown, however, there are 2 things to consider:

1. The contractor took our money under false pretences
2. The contractor never communicated a new timeline until we requested our money back

Neither one has anything to do with weather or lockdown and if the contractor was truly busy due to those factors he would have returned our money since no work or material was rendered.

If you have been victimized from Greymax Restoration/Construction or Jeremy, we encourage you to contact your local Police division so they can have a record of all the occurrences.

Jeremy advised me that this is not a police matter as it's a Civil matter. This response validates our suspicions that he has done this before and our next steps are to take Greymax /Jeremy to court.

UPDATE MAY 28:
With the assistance of the York Regional Police, we were able to get our $1500 returned.

Jeremy took the deposit and promised to start after one week. Never showed up. Then I called many times and finally picked up and said he will start in a week. again, never showed up. Don’t use these guys, seems fraud. I need to get my refund. I will be pursuing whatever possible to get refund.

It's a hard working team. When work together gets the results. Did our patio which needs some finishes. He has promised to come back in 1 week time as there are some clean and touch up left.

I am required to write this review for the waterproofing job this company was promising to do. It has been nothing less than a nightmare. I should have read the legitimate reviews here. It looks like these guys have never done water proofing. I was made to move the water from outside of the weeping tiles inside the house basement and connect it to the drain. This is now i know illegal to do. I paid for this in full and now i had to undo this to comply with the code. This action without a permit should revoke their plumbing license they have. I have to redo the entire water proofing all over. These guys took almost 60% of the money.

Jeremy and his crew were amazing to deal with. The work was done and completed when he said it would be. Always responsive and quick to touch base during stages of work being done. Excellent work and very thorough. Will definitely recommend to anyone! Thanks for the terrific work, we love the kitchen!

Highly recommend. Great team. I had them extend my driveway. Great work and very easy to work and talk with. They are very flexible to meet all your needs. Good luck Greymax. I will keep you at the top of the list when I re do the pool deck.

This is just a warning. I feel obligated to let others know the nightmare I have been through with this company.
The Job was concrete pad and stairs from the top level to the walkout basement.
To this day I am left with uneven pad. The stairs are more then a tripping hazard. They told me 7 inch risers and none of them are. Most are 5.25 and 2 of them are less than 3 inches in height.
They have agreed to come back and correct SOME of the mistakes. We have had 2 companies come to give us an idea of how to repair this pad and both have said removal is the only proper action to which to company mentioned has refused to do on several occasions, They have yet to show up or respond with a plan of action to remedy the issue. Every scheduled day there is a new excuse for not showing up, from an injured employee to personal reasons.
Unfortunately we have paid for this job in full which was over $18,000.00 and now we are stuck with pooling water, stairs that are a tripping hazard, exposed screws near the top stair and and uneven pad flowing into our home causing who knows how much damage inside and the costs of removal and replacement. This could cost us thousands of dollars over and above if they had simply done the job correctly in the first place.

I do not want anyone else to go through what we are going through so please be careful how you proceed.

**We only had concrete work done so we can only speak to their abilities to perform those projects.

I have edited this review as the first one was flagged because the Owner of the company decided it was easier to contest the review then fix the work he did and have my review removed.

They were great! In and out and one day and did a fantastic job. Very professional and good quality work and pricing seemed very reasonable as my yard is very large

Jeremy and his team are incredible! From first contact to completion the responsiveness, proffesionalism, quality and result was fantastic. The quality of the project far exceeded expectations and was done quickly for a very fair price. They left the site in better condition overall and cleaner than it was when they started.

I noticed some excellent things about the experience that stood out from other contractors I have dealt with over the years. These things are rare in today's world.

1) They completely understood what I wanted very quickly and offered a few suggestions to make it better while maintaining my original idea. They did not try to change my mind nor did they try to make it easier for them.

2) They actually wanted the job and they wanted me to be happy with it. That feeling was evident in every interaction. Most I have dealt with make you feel like they are squeezing you in and doing you a favor but Jeremy and his team make you feel like your project is the most important project of all.

3) Greymax does not take the easy way out! This project was in a large storage area that had a lot of things in it. I was dreading having to try to make space for them to work but I didn't do a thing! They moved everything to a different room, kept the door shut and contained all the mess!! This was not a special request - it is just how careful and clean they are. They left my place spotless!

4) Their quality is definately above expectations. No question!

They are friendly, interesting and engaging people who take a few minutes when you pop your head in, to actually look you in the eye and talk to you. Very refreshing and appreciated.

I would not hesitate to call Greymax for anything I need in the future. Talented, hard working and personable young men who will do very well building the business on word of mouth alone.
