RockSolid Concrete

This job was a way for me to make money so that I can pay my guys, was an actual quote from David about my project. He said this after I terminated his contract for poor workmanship. If you want to make money and not suffer consequences, then dont admit what your motive was for taking a project.

David did not seem to have any remorse for the absolute poor job he did on my driveway. He said he felt bad but didnt show it and actions speak louder than words. After he made a fatal error of not ordering enough concrete to satisfy my project, it was almost as if he wanted me to kick him off site. To get him to come back and see the poor job, was difficult to do. To get him come up with a plan to rectify the situation, was difficult to do. I did more coordinating of my own project, than a contractor whose slogan is we do concrete right. He didnt do my concrete right, not even close.

He talked a big game. But he plays small.

Notice how this review doesnt even mention what happened during the project? Well, Ill leave these pictures below to show everyone what it was like. I hope no one ever has to go through what I went through with David.

The grading was done poorly.
There were no chalk lines or stakes in the ground to indicate the top of slab heights.
There were no forms in place for transitions.
He didnt put ¾ clear gravel like he told me he would. He put limestone screening.
The broom finish was so rough that I could grate cheese on it.
The concrete was spread too thin in certain areas causing it to break when stepped on.
The day of the pour when things went wrong, he didnt even call me to tell me.
Theres more. But I am just too tired to mention it.

Even all my neighbours and passers by, who walked in the laneway behind my house, were disappointed in the job that was done by David. These same people were so happy when I had David's mess torn up and redone.

I will get my money back David, one way or another.

Dave has worked to make some adjustments to our previous issue and is working to resolve.

I held off writing this review as I remained optimistic. After calling David multiple times with multiple texts, my calls have been ignored. Some of his material has remained at the front of my house for over a year now and he came back briefly to strip the surface, but has ghosted me ever since. The coating for the steps was never mixed right so it chipped from the beginning. My wife is constantly noting how horrible the front our house looks.

I actually hate writing reviews like this as I understand that this affects someone's livelihood, but this has been 2 years and I am now going to have to pay someone else to do the same job that wasn't done correctly the first time.

I am so thankful for the new garage floor. Our old one was in much needed repair. David and his crew came and did a professional job. I am so please with the new concrete floor well done. David has exceptional communication letting us know every step he was doing. Thank you so much

We did a lot of shopping around to find someone to epoxy our hot tub pad. After our first contractor botched the job, we found Dave who got us out of a serious bind. It was so refreshing to find someone that delivered exactly what was promised. Dave is good at what he does but he also went above and beyond to make sure our expectations were met. He kept the work area clean, respected our property and made sure we were happy with all aspects of the job. If you are looking for a trustworthy independent concrete contractor I highly recommend.

Dave and his team were incredible. Very good at what they do. They made my backyard look like a mini oasis! They went above and beyond. The plants they had to dig out they even put those in the correct places afterwards. I am looking forward to completing the other side of the fence in the fall! Thank you guys.

I had Rock Solid Concrete do a retaining wall for me along a driveway for a client of mine. My Client was very happy with the results, and I will definitely be subcontracting my concrete jobs out to David again.

They came by and did an excellent job. I am very satisfied with the job that they did and the work looks amazing. They cleaned up nicely after too.

I'm very satisfied with the concrete repair of my driveway, walkway and porch. David was thorough and filled in large voids, leveled key areas and rebuilt drainage slopes to solve any drainage issues. The job was done on time and I didn't mind paying a little more for the extra work that needed to be done. The rate was reasonable and highly recommend RockSolid Concrete.
