Got a quote for 4 2nd floor bedroom windows, 1 Egress window in the basement and 1 replacement screen. Price was great and company was recommended by a friend.
Had windows delivered the day before I was told they would be so they were sitting outside my house all day, visible from the street. Was told I would need to store them for 1 week before they’d be installed. Ended up storing them for almost a month. Continually getting pushed on his schedule. I understand a day or 2 because of weather or something else happening on another job but to be pushed by a month is ridiculous.
Was told that there wouldn’t be any cutting for the Egress window but ended up cutting but used a grinder. Hung my Polly to try and keep dust down but didn’t do it properly so my entire basement is covered in a layer of concrete dust.
His helper didn’t show up for 2 days in a row so I ended up helping. This wasn’t horrible as I was working from home and it only took about 30 min out of my day.
He asked me for 3 days straight to pay him even though the job wasn’t done. Stating he needs the money for his mortgage. I payed the window company directly so the remaining was only for his labour.
When he was complete he took my screen that was broken and took it to a company to make me a new one. Because this was the only thing remaining I payed him in full. I had to remind him (again) about the screen and he sent me a quote from the company that was making the screen that I would need to pay before they made it.
I was up on my roof cleaning gutters out and found a pile of garbage under one of the windows that was replaced and in the gutter. He had also told me that he had to remove a downspout but would put it back once finished. His way of putting it back was to put a drop caulking at the bottom to hold it.
Overall not impressed and would not recommend.
