I needed 3 poorly placed & problematic 25-year old evergreens to be removed (one requiring a City removal permit), plus some pruning and thinning of a large willow. I requested quotes from a couple of companies but meeting Devines owner, Tiger, an affable Aussie, cemented the decision to contract the work to his company. It was definitely a good decision. Far from being chain-saw cowboys, Tiger and his accompanying crew (Julia & Jerome) proved to be professionals through and through. Two of the evergreens were in close proximity to a neighbouring house, a fence and a storage shed (literally inches away from the latter). All survived without a scratch. Using deliberation and skill the tree trunks were removed in small sections and lowered to the ground by rope. Nothing appeared to be rushed and there appeared to be an emphasis on safety - of both the workers and the surrounding structures.
Julia & Jerome came back the next day to tackle the willow. I was impressed with the amount of skill shown as they traversed around the upper reaches of the tree on ropes. Even more impressed by the unbelievable amount of brittle deadwood they removed, leaving the tree a lot lighter. Tiger followed with a stump grinder, reducing the stumps to wood chips. Everything was left in a neat and tidy fashion.
I would certainly hire Devine Arboricultural Solutions again, as the crews are well trained and the company appears to afford them the necessary time to do the job right.
