Duca Contractors

Duca Home Improvement is a dishonest company that swindled our family out of tens of thousands of dollars. Work started on time but slowly came to a halt. Most of the completed work was done poorly and unprofessionally, such as:

- No moisture proofing for the new shower
- Bulges in the drywall due to crooked plumbing
- Was planning to cover the gap at the wall/ceiling joint with crown molding, which would not meet fire code requirements for fire rating

David, the mastermind behind this shambolic operation, stopped answering our calls, texts and emails halfway through the project. He would occasionally offer a glimmer of hope by answering and promising to show up the next day, and would then promptly go radio silent again for another few weeks.

David was also dishonest about the status of our materials, such as the kitchen cabinetry. We paid David to buy the cabinets but the cabinets never arrived. When we called the store to confirm the order status, they stated that they never received an order from David. When we confronted David about this, he claimed that he actually placed the order at another store, but failed to share details despite our numerous requests. To this day, we still don't have the cabinets that we paid for.

David promised the work would be completed by a certain date, assuring us that we can start ordering furniture for the space. The furniture arrived, but the space was nowhere near ready. We had to store the new furniture among piles of tools, materials and dust.

Eventually we got fed up with David's dishonesty and hired a new contractor. Needless to say, we would never recommend this company to anyone.

Duca

I would not recommend Duca contracting for multiple reasons:

◦ David is not a person of his word! He talks a good talk but has not followed through with our contract or agreement & is very unresponsive via phone, text and/or email
◦ Our dream home experience was just horrible & our home was left in an unlovable condition! Our timeline of 3 mos turned into 9 months and still was not completed. We had to get multiple trades to come & complete the unfinished work Duca provided
◦ For the work that was done, it had very poor workmanship overall.
◦ The home did not pass inspection with the city and DUCA continued the renovations anyway. It did not pass plumbing, HVAC & building inspections. I had to complete the inspections with the city in September after DUCA left our house u finished and nit livable.
◦ Duca agreed to pay for the unfinished work. He still owes us money and we have been Unsuccessful in reaching him
◦ Part way through another I was told our project was given to another project manager who was useless as well
