Rick and Chris were tasked to frame, drywall, and trim my entire basement.
I decided I was going to provide the material. They really helped by telling me what to get, and even picking some stuff up that I missed. They brought everything down into the basement for me (84 Sheets of drywall!)
Starting with the framing, they came in and lasered and chalked all the lines and then went to work over the weekend while I was away. I came back to a fully framed basement that looked amazing. There were some difficult areas where ducting was low and they had to box it out. They managed to squeeze as much height out of my ceiling as possible with it still looking amazing. They also made a custom theater wall to house the speaker boxes.
After all of the framing was complete they hung all of the drywall and did a great job on that, kept gaps to a minimum and everything was clean and ready for taping and mudding. Once the drywal mud and sand was complete everything looked smooth.
I then painted the walls and ceiling, and it was during this time I noticed how great of a job they did on the sanding. There were no noticeable areas and nothing was showing through the paint. Doing a great job on sanding makes a world of difference.
After painting I decided to install the clickable vinyl myself. It was then I noticed how perfectly square the walls were. I am the furthest from a handy man, but I was able to install the floors with ease due to their attention to detail in the framing.
Once that was complete they came back in to install all of the baseboards, trim, and doors, and fix any little things. They even did the trim in the bathroom and around the bathtub that I so badly butchered when I tried to renovate that room myself.
The doors ended up perfectly level and close great.
I would definitely recommend Solaris for their attention to detail, great communication and ease to work with, and their great care about each and every job they do. They aren't happy until you are happy. Even coming back to fix a small detail and even install a pocket door handle that I forgot to buy.
If you are weary about picking a contractor, I would not hesitate with Solaris.
