On one hand, the job was completed and the retaining wall Amasis
built is decent.
On the other hand, the project was filled with red flags that I shouldn't have hired this company.
I was quoted $5000 for the wall with a 50% deposit. Note - the link below states never to agree to anything above 10%.
Louis Henry took a month to quote, missed two appointments to meet at the job site with me, misjudged the amount of work in the quote (charging me an extra $450), The other 50% was requested before the final job was complete and before I was able to have a look at the finished product.
We agreed to hold back 10% for final completion. They didn't clean up the job site quickly and even after I complained, they left behind 1 large item. He then said he would charge me for that too, which I agreed to.
But here's the kicker - when I explained that he took too long, overcharged me, wasted my time, left stuff behind, etc... , he called me a coward and stated he would come to my home right away for the final 10% (see attached). In response, I suggested we meet in a public
place where I can give him the remaining payment. When he arrived at the public place, he came with another man, presumably to enforce payment.
Based on this interaction, it was recommended I file a police report and was told never to communicate with them again.
This took 4 months in total.
I ended up getting the mess cleaned up separately.
I would not recommend Amasis. Also note, their address is a mailbox in a Money Mart at 7777 Keele Street, Vaughan. So they do not actually have a physical location, another red flag.

You called us to figure out a solution to put up your fence securely. You had other Contractors there before us, that could not finish your job. We had to remove all the previous Contractors work and start from scratch.
We completed the job as you stated, and we were the ones that mentioned you could holdback 10%.
Customer service is our top priority, we completed your project as per our agreement but you did not want to pay the 10% holdback after we were completed.
Everyone deserves to get paid for their work. It's not respectable for customers to try to put us in a bad position, just so they don't have to pay, we completed your project as agreed, and then we had to call you for weeks before we got our final payment.
