I hired Rodrigo to install drywall in my basement and finish the surface (tape, mud, sand). Rodrigo has one of the best drywall installation team out there. Jose, the drywall installer and his teammate worked hard through 2 and half days and they (as well as Rodrigo later on) managed to hide imperfections in the framing (I had done the framing myself).
Then Rodrigo came in, taped, mudded and sanded. One thing I can say is good thing I did not try to do it myself, and I definitely made the right choice by hiring Rodrigo.
I quoted 5 or 6 contractors before making my decision, and I picked Rodrigo even though he was not the cheapest (he still gave me a decent price though - price I quoted included material and I have a big basement). Rodrigo pays attention to detail, is picky and very cautious about his reputation. Which is something I like because I am very picky too. I inspected the work after he was done and I can say that it is rare that I find no issues with contractor work, but in this instance I found no issues at all with Rodrigo's work. which surprised me.
Excellent workmanship. Patient person. Answered all my incessant daily questions. Gave it the time it needed, no shortcuts whatsoever.

We recently re-insulated our garage ceiling as there is a bedroom overhead, and needed to have drywall reinstalled. Onyx was one of the contractors who responded to our request for a quote. After receiving quotes from all three, and having met Rodrigo in person, we decided to proceed with Onyx.

We are extremely satisfied with the work that Rodrigo and his team did. They were accommodating with our flexible schedule and completed the work in a timely manner. The work included not only the ceiling, but also the walls as well. Despite the fact that this was a garage project, there was no compromise on the quality of the finish. It is as good as you would want, even for the inside of a house. It is clear that Rodrigo takes a great deal of pride in the work he does.

--- Ceiling ---
My wide and I didn't like our popcorn ceiling on our 2nd floor and had it replaced with ceiling drywall. Onyx assessed the situation and recommended to replace the drywall. At 1st I thought it was going to be a huge job, but was convinced to not use mud over the popcorn ceiling because the ceiling was not flat. It would require more work to do a straight mud job over popcorn.

At the end of the day I was glad we replaced the ceiling and the attic insulation, because I was able to find leaks, mold and poor insulation in certain spots!

The insulation was replaced with R60 cellulose, new 6 mil vapor barrier, and drywall. We couldn't be more happier!

--- Bathroom ---
Onyx drywalled two of my bathrooms. They were both a complete gut job and they look fantastic. Onyx used the latest drywall (Denshield) for our showers and mold resistant board for outside of shower.

--- Patch Work ---
I had onyx replace a previous door entry to a closet with drywall. It is seemless! They were able to blend it with the existing wall on both sides. Looks great!

--- Fine Detail ---
Since my 2nd floor was going through a major renovation, Onyx walked around and filled any dings, dents, and imperfections. After a coat of paint, our walls look brand new.

I cant say enough about the great experience I had with Rod from Onyx drywall.
I recently renovated my basement and installed the drywall myself but wanted to make sure the taping/finish was done right and not look like DYI project.
I contacted a few companies but done of them took the time and explained the steps and pointed out things or gave advice on how to improve my amateur drywall install.
Just speaking with Rod you can really tell he cares about his craft and doing the job right.

I had the pleasure of working with Rod on my new home build. He was actually a taping/mudding sub for another company I hired to do my drywall work. Of all the trades that worked on my property, Rob and his partner were the most conscientious and particular of all the trades combined. Our home was extremely complicated and custom complicated by floating stairs, pitched and angled walls, skylights, trimless windows, a glass floor and overall a lot of tricky walls. They took great pride in the work they did and did all they could to ensure we were extremely satisfied with the end result being of course - PERFECT!

Onyx did a fantastic job in our basement. The attention to detail and professionalism they demonstrated was impressive. full renovation of the main floor, removed popcorn from the entire ceilings and applied 3 coats,leveled 3 walls, finished a pantry in the kitchen, touch ups in the bathroom.
