We have seen some of Tri-Form’s work before and have always planned that when we needed some of our own concrete poured, we’d call Chris & Luke. Well we just moved into a new (older) home in Calgary and wanted the uneven and frankly dangerous sidewalk blocks replaced with a proper sidewalk, so the first call went to Tri-Form and not surprisingly Chris’ & Luke’s expertise in evaluating and estimating our needs were top-notch.
With 130 feet of sidewalk needed, including 7 steps up from the city walk, 2 more dropping along the front of the house adjacent to a porch, a 90 deg turn down the side, passing around a large window-well and going through the back gate terminating next to where a future ground level deck will be built…the job was set.
Included in the estimate was an option to do the excavation ourselves, and understanding Tri-Form’s quality standard we knew we would have our work cut out for us. But off we went all-the-while knowing that the more thorough the groundwork was done, the better off the next stages would be. As this was a strictly optional effort, the work was rewarding, and in turn laid out a good clay base for Chris & Luke to work with.
With a fair bit of material removed and in return lots of gravel, rebar and concrete brought in, Tri-Form surpassed our expectations and the finished sidewalk is beyond beautiful. They ensured they had qualified resources at their ready to ensure a single-pour and finish… two thumbs up! The only thing surpassing the work that was done, was the friendliness, competence and professionalism of The Fokken brothers and their crew.
Many neighbour’s have since commented on the finished job, all with nothing less than very positive remarks, including one with architectural landscaping experience whom stated on how difficult it is to properly place steps in a residential setting all the while forming to the land. We will not be selling or moving for many years, but somehow just know that right-now, the return on this investment would almost certainly comeback to us is an increase in home value (but in the meantime it is invaluable to us). Thanks guys!
