Poor Moving Experience and Terrible Customer Service
I don't usually write a bad review for a company but hiring Get Movers was a terrible experience for us and I feel the need to warn others. When the moving truck arrived with a name on it that we didn't recognize, it became clear that they subcontract - so there is unpredictability there and you don't know the quality of the movers you're going to get.
The movers took items to our storage area off site and at that site they pressured us into paying before they finished the job. When we got home from the storage unit we found gouges in our wall, scratches all over our basement floor and extensive damage to our basement door and trim around it.
On the same day, we sent an email with photos of the damage, which they completely ignored. After numerous attempts at getting through to them they sent us a claim form which we filled out, and after two weeks they still didn't get back to us to resolve the issue. So again we had to contact them and when they finally responded they said they rejected our claim because we already paid them. They made us pay them when we were off site and couldn't check to see if there was damage at the house. When we told them that, they again ignored us and haven't bothered to reply.
It's incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that claims to have great customer service and exceptionally professional staff when in reality they have given us horrible service and damaged our home. The person at Get Movers who we dealt with didn't care at all about us and treated us with contempt.
