I had an extremely dissatisfying experience with Nico and it is vital to share my concerns to protect others from his poor service.

1. Solo Work and Compromised Quality
Nico performed the chimney repair alone instead of with a two-person team. His struggle to handle equipment alone on the scaffolding resulted in subpar work. The job took twice as long, 8 hours instead of the agreed 4 hours. Extreme caution is advised if Nico plans on working solo.

2. Lack of Tuckpointing and Brick Replacements:
Contrary to other inspectors' recommendations, Nico did not perform tuckpointing or brick replacements. Instead, he filled missing mortar and provided waterproofing.
I took Nicos advice against replacing bricks. He claimed it would weaken the rest of the chimney. I now regret taking his advice, considering moisture was penetrating into the basement and especially other inspectors offered similar quotes

3. Insufficient Photographic Evidence
Despite our agreement to provide before and after pictures, the images Nico provided were either distant or blurred, making it impossible for me to assess the evidence of the mortar repair work. See photo. This lack of clear photographic evidence indicates a lack of transparency.

4. Poorly Executed Chimney Sealing:
The chimney sealing was poorly executed with a visually unprofessional appearance resulting in inadequate water runoff seen in photo. I regret trusting Nico's advice as I discovered that sealing off a chimney can cause condensation issues.

5. Damage to Rooftop Shingles:
While Nicos job was to fix the chimney, he drilled multiple deep holes without permission to secure a waste box and plank for waste disposal on my rooftop shingles resulting in unnecessary damage to my roof. This is completely unacceptable. See photo.

6. Lack of Integrity and Threatening Behavior:
Nico's lack of integrity was evident when he threatened to place a lien on my house just 3 days after receiving an invoice. This happened while we were discussing my legitimate dissatisfaction with the repairs, further highlighting his untrustworthiness.

Nico's limited 2 years of experience is reflected in his work and website, which lacks crucial details to showcase his professionalism, integrity, trustworthiness, and experience.
It is absolutely reasonable to expect transparency, accountability, and satisfactory workmanship, which Nico has failed to provide. Beware of his persuasive talk which may not align with his actions. Learn from my mistakes and stay vigilant.
