TOK Construction

I hired TOK Construction initially to do a kitchen and 2 bathroom renovations. I cant emphasize how much I was pleased with not only their work but dedication, professionalism, artistry, and meticulousness. Omer was always keeping me informed daily about the progress and made sure that I felt comfortable with the decisions made and was patient with any questions or clarifications I needed along the way . Hes a true perfectionist so always made sure to take his time to ensure that the job was done to a high standard . Even doing so, this huge project of a kitchen remodel, 2 bathroom remodels, installing new lighting, repair of laundry room subfloor, additional flooring and repairs (drywall, mold, etc) there was nothing that Omer and his crew couldnt do. There were so many issues, they kept arising in modernizations of a 40 yr old house , but Omer went the extra mile of informing me of what all of the options were and at times recommending the less expensive one. That spoke volumes to me. He is truly an honest and honorable contractor which is extremely difficult to find in this market. After the job was completed he even surprised me with a Starbucks gift card. Given his craftsmanship, and business ethics I definitely would hire TOK Construction again.

After a recommendation from a relative about TOK. I decided to give them a shot, they did not disappoint, Omer and Peter did my basement with a stand up shower and it came really nice. Especially the tiling.

My experience with TOK has been amazing! My new remodeled bathroom is beautiful, and modern. The tradesmen were all highly experienced professionals and the result is great quality! We must also mention the great customer service experience from TOK info staff! I will definitely recommend TOK to our family and friends!

The bathroom renovation turned out well, I'm happy to be able to enjoy it. I had never done a reno and wasn't sure about the process. It was nice to have a single point of contact. Omer's overall guidance was helpful and he was responsive, he took care of things like booking elevators with the building. The job did take longer than the initial 2-3 weeks anticipated (~5.5 weeks) but the quality was there and the before/after is a major transformation.

Two bathrooms completely gutted and renovated. Omer from TOK Construction was great to deal with: courteous, professional, attentive to details, came often to inspect, check on the job. He was patient with my questions and changes, made every effort to accommodate. Global supply chain delays impacted my renos but he made sure the job progressed. His main worker was meticulous. Would recommend to anyone.

I hired Omer and TOK based on their good reviews but Im sad to say this renovation was a nightmare from beginning to end. Throughout the renovations, I never got the feeling Omer was very experienced in home improvements. He never seemed to know any of the questions I asked him on how things were supposed to be installed or what kind of material I should be buying. Every time I asked him anything about materials, his reply was always He only handles the installation, materials are not his problem. All his measurements were off by a large margin. I had 11 extra boxes of flooring. 3-4 I could understand but 11?!? Multiple extra boxes of tiles and trim as well. Thousands of dollars worth wasted. A lot of days, I would go to the house and no one was working. The estimated completion time Omer gave me was 7-9 weeks so I gave Omer a dead line of 15 weeks because I sold my condo and I had to move in the house. 15 weeks later, Omer was no nowhere close to completion. The house was unliveable. Flooring wasnt even installed, kitchen was still bare. I had to move my wife and 2 small children in with my parents, which was another nightmare in itself. Omer threw constant overages at me for a lot of things that should have been included in the original quote. $1500 to install 4 electrical outlets, $1350 replace the tips off 3 pipes. He wanted to charge me an additional $1750 just to replace all the outlets and switches, material not included. Just insane prices for extras that should have been included in the quote. I ended up paying 25% more than originally quoted. I paid him always thinking as long as it was done right, I wouldnt mind. I couldnt have been more wrong. The last straw was getting a countertop with the wrong cutout for my sink. Then Omer blamed me for not presenting the sink to him. He ordered the countertop without sink measurements and he blames me? It was going to cost me $3000 for a new countertop with correct cutout. Omer made it clear it wasnt coming out of his end. It was a long time coming, I had to let Omer go. After I fired Omer, I got a few of certified tradesmen in to finish the work and I find out nothing Omer completed was up to code. I find out that Omers painter uses a cheap spray method to paint the house, not brush and roller. I had tons of overspray paint all over my windows and floor. Took hours upon hours to clean. Sloppy grout work on my tiles, more hours to clean and chip it all off. I find out what little materials Omer provided were cheapest material on the market. $5 pot-lights, bottom of the barrel ceiling paint. I had to redo all the plumbing and painting. Re-Renovating my renovations. I lay awake at night about all the money and time I wasted hiring TOK construction. The constant headaches. My wife and parents reminded me of that every day I lived with them as well. I wasnt going to write this review because I like to see companies succeed, Ive never written a bad review on Homestars. But I wouldnt feel right if someone hires TOK without knowing my experience with them. Do yourself, your wallet, and your family a favour, hire another company to complete your renovations, literally any other company.

Work was done professionally, timely and within the estimated cost. Tok Construction Inc. representative, Mr. Omer was cooperative, friendly and managed the project very well.

Omer and his team were very professional and always kept in communication with me throughout the whole process. Im very pleased with the quality of their work!

We found our contractor through Reno assist. Reno assist provides vetted contractors for quoting jobs. Therefore, we new before the contractors provided job quotes that they had insurance, paid their trades, had good reputations, references etc. All three contractors came in with about the same quote prices, but, TOK Construction was able to start immediately and did have the best quote. They got the entire job done in about 4 weeks, which I thought was fantastic. The job included inserting a new window, pocket door, heated tile floor, tiled walls and niche, bidet toilet, floating vanity and 3'x 4' wall inset medicine cabinet, plumbing and electrical and glass enclosed shower. The workmanship was very good and they provided a clear agreement that outlined what they were providing and doing and what I was providing, therefore it was an easy relationship. If we had any issues Omer our contact at TOK took care of everything quickly and to our needs. Omer always made himself available and often came to the site. We thought the trades people they employed were all very good. I would definitely recommend TOK and look forward to having them quote on our next job. We had a very good experience and now I have a beautiful bathroom thanks to TOK Construction. By H. Kuus
