Jim is friendly, responsive and reliable. He provided us with exceptional service and worked around our schedule, even if it meant travelling back and forth between his other commitments to get our job done on a tighter timeline. We asked him for quotes on ideas we had for future renos and he was honest about which ones were not worth the money (and who does that?!). Overall, we were very happy with him and will definitely work with him again.

We were going to have our bathroom renovated. Got a few quotes, Jims (JC Contracting) was the best. But, we started having some flooding issues in our basement. We asked Jim to have a look, he did, and with some direct and honest discussion we decided to renovate our basement.
Jims work ethic is second to none. He is a meticulous and clean worker, clear in his description and explanations of his work. He handles his subcontractors with speed and efficiency. We were honestly amazed and delighted with how quickly Jim handled the task at hand.
While we uncovered a few bigger issues with our basement Jim worked hard to keep us to the budget we had in mind. In the end, were absolutely thrilled to have a basement with proper plumbing, sound electrical and looking absolutely beautiful.
In the end Jim gutted our basement, removed the floors and some walls, subcontracted plumbing for a new backflow valve and a new floor drain for our new basement laundry room. He then reframed the basement, brought in an electrician to clean up some bad wiring and then drywall went up. Once this work was complete he leveled the floor and installed new porcelain tiles. Once the job was finished, Jim cleaned up and reinstalled our laundry.

Completed full renovation of unfinished basement in 2014 including all new electrical flooring and stairs. It was done on time as promised before Christmas. Hired again in 2021 because of the exceptional work on the basement. Full renovation of 2 upstairs bathrooms. Work on the bathrooms was on time and maximum convenience for us. Work area was fully cleaned up each day. We confidently refer this company.

Finished on time and on budget. Quality work with excellent advice. Gutted and replaced entire kitchen. Took down walls, new ceiling, new tile and laminate flooring upstairs and in front entrance.

Jim did a beautiful job completely finishing our basement followed a few months later by the master bathroom. I had an idea in mind and Jim ran with it and we are so thrilled with all of it. Jim and his partner Scott were a pleasure to have at the house, always on schedule, tidy and always friendly even with the dogs!! I will definitely have Jim back when I save up to do the next job!

I say, Worked with, because JC includes you in the process (if you want to be). Jim has done many projects for us through the years. He has installed a backsplash to our kitchen, and exposed brick to our open floor plan family and dining room. He built us a two tier deck (that we co-designed) and finished our basement, in which he suggested creative solutions. In addition, he created, made, and installed for us a custom made double fireplace and a hood range to match our existing cabinetry! Jim is always the first person we call for our projects. He always arrives on time (usually early so make sure youre up in time). And is terrific with dogs and kids, being a father himself. Finally, JC manages his projects so that everything moves as seamlessly as possible and is diligent about timelines. We look forward to working with Jim on our next project!
