Exceptional work, reliable, and reasonably priced. He looked after the application to the city, a complicated removal of a dying tree, and all of the cleanup afterwards. We would recommend Colin to anyone needing tree service. In fact, both of our neighbours asked for his contact information.

It started with an emergency situation.  The contractor working on the house told us that they can't finish their job until the big branches over the roof are removed.  They didn't mention it before starting the work.  It was already Friday evening and I desperately contacted six tree removal companies.  Colin was the first to reply, came to have a look, and removed the branches.  Everything was done in a week. He saved us from paying extra for keeping the contractors.  We had him again for pruning other trees also, and now are in the process of removing two mature Manitoba Maple trees.  Professional, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and the rate is reasonable.  Feeling so lucky to find him in Ottawa! Highly recommended.

Colin is a wealth of knowledge and very thorough and clearly experienced. He effortlessly planted 10 trees at our house. He ensured to provide watering and feeding tips to ensure best growth. He also returned to our home a few days later to ensure all was in order with the trees. Highly recommended for any tree planting, removal or maintenance projects.

We hired Climbing Bear Tree Company to look at a few very large, older trees that were showing signs of damage/rot. Colin came to our house within days of contacting him, listened carefully to our concerns, gave us his assessment of the trees and recommended route plus options, depending on our wishes. This last part really impressed me because it showed his ability to understand our wishes within the scope of what the trees needed. In other words, he didn't take a 'slash and burn' approach.
We worked out a mutually agreeable price (with written quote ), date to do the work, and he showed up on schedule, and on time. He and his partner got straight to work, with all the proper safety equipment, and carried out everything as quoted. He also provided further information about our trees once he got up to the trouble spots. He seems to know a lot about the different species, works with preservation in mind, and is very good at communicating his ideas. I would hire this company again, and recommend them to others in the Ottawa area.

Colin does amazing work. We had 3 large fir trees in our backyard that need trimming/care while we needed advice on how to tend to them in future. Colin did an amazing trimming job on the trees (from the top down) in the beginning of Dec and winter. His expert knowledge took care of the trees’ immediate needs while he reassurred us that all was well with the trees going forward with certain minimal care. Colin is a wealth of knowledge, does great work and is fair and reasonably priced.

Colin is an amazing arborist. He is extremely knowledgeable. I had an overgrown locust tree and many overgrown cedar bushes. I hired Colin to prune the tree and remove the cedars. He was prompt and worked very hard. He did such an excellent job pruning the locust that my neighbour came over and complimented the work.
