Started off by the project being pushed back from the rain, but the owner did not inform us, he just wouldnt show up and we had to contact him.

The work was terrible. They asked for final payment and we had a list of things not completed. We hired them specifically because they know how to repair underground sprinklers. They laid sod and tried telling us we had no underground sprinklers.. they then lifted up the sod and found most but they couldnt find one. We showed him pictures of exactly where it should be and he argued with us. After a day or two of arguing he finally came and dug it up and found it..
they also planted plants without and new soil, two inches abouve the soil line. Didnt clean up, didnt lay landscape fabric (even though we specifically asked for it) had them remove mulch and put it down. They wrecked a section of edging and we had to reach out numerous times to have that replaced. They came back a week later and didnt dig it down so we have to fix that. They have a large section probably 2X2 feet where they simply did not lay sod back down.
Terrible experience, wouldnt recommend to anyone. And the owner is terrible to deal with. And I could go on

Hired them to re-sod my back yard because I was having tree roots coming through and killing all my grass. The job was done but they never laid any top soil or remove any roots and now I have a back yard with hills and crevasses all over. Plus I couldn't open my back gate. I called they and they came to look at it and fixed gate but the sod, they said they could fix it now with no guarantee or come back in the spring the following year and fix it with a guarantee. It has been a year since the following spring and they still have not come and they seem not to be taking my calls or texts.

I booked to have my deck resurfaced in May 2023. I was promised it would be done in about 4 weeks. Service was postponed several times due to being unable to get the product. By August I was looking elsewhere to have the work done and asked for a refund of my $2500 deposit. Jimmy said he had to check with his accountant and thats the last weve ever heard from him. He has gone dark to my communications.

They pulled up the old sod, put down a miniscule amount of top soil, did a poor job of packing it down, then laid the new sod. It is totally lumpy and wavy. The did not take up all the quack grass, so now it is growing
into our lovely new sod. They laid the sod over the neighbour's side because they were too tired to cut it in or even level it. He said he would be back if there was a problem. He won't answer the phone or email. Don't hire them if you want quality.

Alright so the plan was to build a wood fence with a gate, which they did in a timely manner, even when it was pospone a few weeks, that was no issue we had no rush. But what makes me voice myself and make people aware of the is that after the work was done (& paid for) and when preparing for winter, I came to realize that when placing one of the posts a underground 4 drain pipe was damaged. I contacted Jimmy who was the person who built the fence for us and his reply was Yes Ill go take a look which of course never happened.

I think there should be a bit more commitment from them and if anything was damage during the job, they should be responsible and fix it. I most say it was initially good dealing with them but the after service really let me down.

For this reason I do Not recommend them.

Larry and Jimmy from JL Evolution do sloppy work at best, and dont know what the city bylaws or codes are. I have a deck that needs to be torn down because it isnt safe and looks like I built it myself. Larry and Jimmy buried the eavestroughing downspout and didnt do it properly so they dont drain at all, which will cause foundation issues if left. Most of the work they did needs to be torn out and redone. Larry said they were done and stopped calling me back even though he had previously agreed to fix all deficiencies. Loads of stress for a senior citizen on a fixed income. Too many photos to upload!!! This was a horrible experience and I dont know how either of them sleep at night.

Was going to be a renovation of my backyard, started the job but never finished it... Started 2 weeks late and after they stopped working on it I asked for a portion of my deposit back. After he said he would return it, he went dark. Hasn't responded in any form of communication since. Very unprofessional and I will be taking him to small claims court. Ridiculous business. Stay away from this company!!

Contracted Jimmy to lay vinyl flooring on my main floor. Two day job turned into a full 7 days to install approx. 630 sq. ft. And finished job supposedly acceptable. Had many discussion re: technique and accruing damage throughout the 7 days. Day 4 Jimmy was handed a 3-pg complaint letter and the following day very direct confronting discussions revealed no answers to the growing issues that continued to the end. I now have 175 photos. More planks unlocking as floor is walked on. I supplied high quality popular $2,500.00 vinyl planking; 37 boxes. Went through all the boxes. Supposedly bought 3 more boxes. Did substantial damage to product, planks not locked in, tried hiding mistakes, paint on new floors, glued floating floor down in living room area so cannot float, terrible trim cuts, hired a laminate installer who knew nothing about vinyl planking installation and Jimmy himself worked on site. Countless beginner mistakes made, scratched and damaged planks that they didn't replace at their cost, jib site filthy with sawdust, debris and plank particulates everywhere and installed on flooring that was not cleaned before planks laid down. Many deficiencies. Inflated their invoice to more than double the quote, stated they warrantied their job but didn't install with any warranty in mind. Will not have them back to fix the many obvious mistakes that should have been resolved with daily site inspection. Completely unprofessional. Flooring not waterproof. As a result flooring warranty voided and now a law suit has begun. Appalling, incompetent and unprofessional. Many excuses given when challenged on installation techniques. Tried passing a plank installation on top of a 3/4" underlay as acceptable. Please go elsewhere for your own safety.

Jimmy team was great to work with. They went the extra mile while doing our basement reno. I will be calling them back again when we need more work to be done.

Terrible on all fronts. Simple front yard renovation. Sidewalk was to be removed and concrete poured, lawn to be removed and re-sodded.

Just a few of the issues are listed below.

1) sidewalk not cribbed properly three times, the last straw was when they cribbed it 14" out of skew. I had a surveyor confirm this (again at my expense)
2) They tried to pour concrete on dirt (instead of agreed compacted gravel) also tried to pour concrete on loose sand, rebar not installed properly and not tied into house foundation
3) I left the work site for 45 minutes and they dug 12" deeper than agreed so they wanted another 2k to do this... no discussion. I had to pay for a load of gravel delivered and I had to build the area up myself in 1" lifts with a compactor to fix it (after they were fired)
4) Most other home owners would have just let them pull the wool over their eyes. Even the subcontractors thought the entire situation was a joke
5) They left a giant root ball on my lawn I had to use a bob cat to remove at my expense (after 5 requests for them to come get it)

I have tried to come to a financial agreement as they took my 5,000$ deposit and essentially cost me more money than they accomplished.

I am now to the point of starting small claims against them as they don't return my emails and it should not be allowed that this happens to me and others as well.

Here are just a few photos of the project before they were fired. The front view shows a white line where the sidewalk should have been placed. The wood cribbing is where they endlessly tried to convince me was correct. The aerial shot shows it's obviously wrong. Other photos show rebar sticking out of the cribbing, not tied properly to the house and the dirt/sand they wanted to pour concrete on. Not to mention wrongly cribbed dimensions, cribbing not lining up with gate etc etc.

Again I tried multiple times to resolve this without posting a review like this and going through the court system.
