They deliver for the price they charge

I used friendly moving for my move in September. They are not the cheapest in the market but they were fantastic from start to finish, the team was super professional and really made the whole process so much easier.
They showed up on time, were super friendly, and handled all my stuff with care. I felt like I was in good hands the entire time. Moving can be so stressful, but these guys made it a breeze.
I highly recommend friendly, if you're looking for a smooth move. They definitely exceeded my expectations!

This company is part of a broker

I contacted another company regarding my move from B.C. to A.B, in the middle of September 2023, after UHAUL cancelled my reservation due to lack of availability, I didnt know they were a broker, and outsourced to Friendly Moving & Storage, which I had already chosen to not use, I was panicked because I was running out of time; I spoke with a sales representative named James, and explained my situation, and budget, as I have a transportation background, I was thorough with James, and even took time to think before deciding to book, I noticed there was no reviews for the company online, and James assured me it was because they were new to residential moves in Canada, but they were experienced in commercial moves, and had been doing them here for a long time, so they had the infrastructure in place, he put me at ease, and assured me that someone would be available, should I have any concerns during my move. James advised there was a $200 deposit, and I asked if I could pay a $500 one instead, to which he agreed, and immediately I noticed they took the wrong amount ($200), so I called to have them rectify this, and they did, and sent me the receipt showing they now had the full $500 deposit, and my move was set for pick up Sept 30, 2023.

On Sept 30 the drivers arrived, and immediately began trying to aggressively upsell us, demanding to repack our belongings, that were already properly packed in brand new Rubbermaid containers bought for this move, and when we declined they became rude, they began loading and when they were done, went to my husband and demanded another $500 towards the balance, only then pulling out a contract stating we agreed to this, when I tried to call the other company there was no answer, and the driver finally got someone for me, and after back and forth the result was, either I pay or they unload, and I had to be back in Alberta for my job, so I paid and they left, and I wasnt sure if I would ever see my belongings again, and the other company never returned my phone call from the message I left.

Oct 3 I received an email from an entirely different moving company, Friendly Moving, demanding final payment in email money transfer, but to a different company email address, I advised that I would send the remaining money, but only when I got an estimated delivery date, and they refused to give me one, they kept acting like I was demanding delivery before payment, regardless of how many times I stated I only wanted an ETA, and I would send the money ASAP, it took 3 days for them to understand, and the minute I got the date (October 7), I honored my word, and sent the money immediately, and got an email from an entirely different email address asking me for the answer to the question, to the email money transfer.

Oct 7, I had scouted a place for the truck to back up, it was a tight squeeze, but its what everyone else does, and this isnt my first time living here, and when the driver arrived, he took one look, decided no without trying, and said he was charging me extra, and when I asked how much, he said $400!!! Which is 1/4 the cost of my entire 1000km move, for them to unload 121 feet? (I measured) I of course was upset and said no, and was told that, they would just leave with my belongings, and I again tried to call the other company, and once again no answer, so I had to choose, not pay, and they take my belongings god knows where, or pay, and get my belongings, so I agreed, and the driver demanded cash, and when I said no, he got upset, I demanded credit card so there was a record, he was not happy but went and got a piece of paper, he made me fill it out, and I wrote under duress all over it, and once the payment cleared, they began unloading, and they were angry, and slamming my things, hitting my walls, and slinging them, and as my Rubbermaids are being loaded in, Im noticing they are all smashed, like someone put them in the truck, and went for a joy ride, they were all brand new, and they are all garbage now, thankfully only one of my possessions inside broke (score one for my packing), and when I mentioned it, the driver got even more rude, he then brought in a box (the one box I sent) soaking wet, and when I asked why, he began opening my personal box, and I yelled to stop because you dont open someones belongings, it turned out the wet box was my fault (although if they were careless with my belongings maybe not), because I packed something that leaked, but he was quite comfortable going into my box in front of me, so god knows what they did when I wasnt there; I also had to have them unload everything onto the main floor, because they wanted to charge me for moving my beds to the second floor.

My entire move was just over a 1 bedroom apartment, I had no dressers, no tables, no desks, no shelves, I had such little stuff, that my house still looked empty when they moved in my belongings, so this was not a giant move by any means!!!

Lastly, I have tried to remedy this with the other company since delivery, but they have stopped responding, I was forced to put through a charge back on my credit card for the $400 on January 29, 2024, and I put in a BBB complaint, but they have responded with nothing but dishonest statements, and character attacks, so many in fact that I think they have me confused with someone else, or they think they can bully me, unclear which, but I kept all my receipts, I have been been adamant I can prove they are not telling the truth, claiming I requested last minute packing, but had to back track in their reply, because I clearly did not need that, my next step is civil action, I recently left this same review, except with less edits on another site, and the company slandered me publicly, they keep claiming I have attempted to stop payment at multiple times during the move process, and this is categorically untrue, Im unsure if they dont understand paper trails or what, but its as simple as requesting proof from my credit card that I never did what they are saying, also once again accusing me of requesting additional packing services that I did not, despite admitting I never asked for this in the BBB correspondence, so I will no longer be engaging, and will proceed civilly, and going for damages for slandering my name on the internet, because what I said was true, and I have the proof to back all of it up, The other company & Friendly Moving absolutely cannot show what they are saying.

I would avoid this company at all costs, they contract out their services, I booked with The other company, not Friendly Moving, and they clearly dont have their process streamlined, and if you are truly on a budget, they will withhold your belongings, Im just lucky I had the ability to pay, most do not.

Took too long

Quoted me 1200 and advised that it shouldn't be more than a couple hundred of other charges, I was charged over 1800 and they took over 2 weeks to bring my things to me.

Moving.

Worst experience I have had. I shipped about 7 boxes from Edmonton, Alberta to Toronto, Ontario. Its been exactly a month since my boxes have been shipped and I have yet to receive them. This company lacks in every aspect. Ive emailed and left multiple messages and received ONE email back stating I would receive a call to set up a delivery date, and I am still waiting for this call. I definitely will not be going through them again. They also make you clear up your bill before receiving your boxes, which is ridiculous. Worst experience ever.

Bad, they messed up the pick-up date. I lost wages due to this, not even willing to talk to me about it. As well, stuff finally arrived and everything was damaged. Worse experience and will never use a moving company again because of it.

Do not go with this moving company

Terrible moving company!! Do not go with them. They quoted me $1400 to move from Victoria to Calgary. I was then charged $1800 "because I was overweight", there is no way I had more than 1000lbs of stuff, and they have no way of proving that. Once I found a place to live in Calgary I requested a delivery, I had to email them 4 times before someone finally put me in touch with Alberta dispatch. I called Alberta dispatch 3 times (left a voicemail each time and never received a call back) when I fairly got ahold of someone they explained they couldn't locate my stuff, and they would call me back once they found it. They never called me back, I finally got ahold of the main office in Vancouver where I was told to "have patience ma'am". The main office in Vancouver confirmed my delivery date and time, my stuff never arrived on that day, and I couldn't get ahold of anyone, someone finally called the next morning and delivered my stuff. The guys that picked up and delivered my stuff were lovely and helpful, but the management and administrative staff are terrible. Trust me you do not want to go with this moving company, it will make your move a whole lot more stressful.

Worst company for moving your essential from British Columbia to Toronto

Worst service keept my essential for almost a month and after few phone calls put my number on voice call.
When I receive my stuff they told me that my stuff was more in weight and untill I pay extra i will not get my stuff.
Few things from my stuff were missing after complaning i was not entertain. I would never recommend anyone should opt them for moving their belongings. Charles will sound like we are best and we will deliver your stuff ASAP but they don't bother.

Beware

I used Friendly Moving, and they charged me double what my quote was. They will NOT provide proof of weight or cube, and I am supposed to pay whatever they decide to charge blindly.
Needless to say, they still have my stuff and still won't provide proof of why I owe double what was quoted on top of a $400 deposit I will never see again. Now they are charging me TRIPLE what the storage room cost my stuff from taken from.
I have pictures of my stuff in storage showing the cube plain as day, yet they insist on charging me for a much larger cube.
The funny thing is, as I was replacing my stuff off marketplace, I told my story to everyone. It appears this has happened to a lot of people.

I moved from Ontario to BC. They're not replying me, where is my stuff is gone?

They are rolling me like a ball. Keep changing delivery dates. Now they have stopped taking my calls and not replying to emails. I have my medical reports in one of my bags. I told them to provide their address so I can travel to Vancouver to collect reports. They are very irresponsible and didn't delivery on the dates that they gave us twice. My reports are so important without those, doctor cannot start my treatment. I need some lawyer who can help mein this situation.
