M&A Luxury Flooring and Renovations

This is the review you want to read as it is coming from the pickiest and detail-oriented person out there.

It took me a while to put this review together as I wanted to make sure I miss nothing here.
The team: there are no words in English language that I can find to describe them. Amazing, professional, experienced, super caring, respectful, kind, super polite - these are just some that quickly came to my mind to start with.

We are at the last stage of our home renovation. My wife and I decided to purchase beautiful herringbone hardwood flooring; however, we failed to realize that there are almost no installers in Ottawa that would come close to this style of flooring due to its complexity and the fact that it is a very time-consuming installation compared to straight flooring.
I was with the team every day, all day, seeing them work, so I can definitely appreciate how complex the herringbone installation is. The end result, of course, was stunning. This type of floor never seizes to impress. Its a playful floor with colour variations that looks different in every direction of the room, depending on the light, sun, wood grain direction, etc. It has a pearl shine to it, so when the sun hits, it gives you that amazing beautiful shade that matches everything in your house.

Herringbone installation must be done by professionals who would take their time, pride, and of course, use proper equipment.
Thanks to one of my very close friends who happen to know MA Luxury team. I was first hesitant as I spent quite a bit of money on this hardwood flooring, and making sure its done right was the most important and critical part in making a decision to go ahead with a company you never dealt with before.
On the first day, when I saw the team, I was immediately put at ease: very kind, clean, professional-looking guys quickly entered our house, without much talk. Theyve evaluated the work to be done and unloaded their state-of-the-art tools (you should see how they take pride and care every day after they finish the work when it comes to cleaning the tools).
The owner of the company, Moe, is a very experienced gentleman. Once the tools were loaded from their van into my house, the work began. The house was cleaned first thoroughly to ensure that the hardwood installation goes smoothly. This was a new high-end engineering herringbone flooring that required glue assist with nailing. This is another point the team doe not save their material. They put enough nails to make sure nothing ever moves. I will get to this point later though.
Day one is usually the most difficult day for hardwood installation, as proper measurements must be taken to ensure that the entire installation goes smooth, otherwise, you risk ruining the entire job, and the material.

Moe and his team took their time, put all the markings, and prepared the floor for the initial installation. The work started. After about half of the box and some planks were installed, Moe stopped to re-evaluate the flooring. Apparently, some planks were manufactured with micro defects on the edges. I honestly did not see an issue with that, but later on, Moe explained to me that this was the most critical part, and if he were to keep going like many would do, the end result would affect the entire house installation due to the style of the herringbone installation. Moe decided to remove the first several planks, even though they were already glued and stapled. To me, this was an indication that I should no longer worry, as he was the pickiest hardwood installer I have seen in my life, and this is not the first time I deal with the home reno. They carefully removed the defective planks and restarted the installation using another box of hardwood flooring. This was it was all perfect. The planks were straight, with nice edges, a clean cut. I could see that the team enjoyed how it started to lay out. I left them alone as I was assured that the end result would be exactly as it turned out.
Every single day they came at 8 am and left my house at 5-6-7 pm, making sure they finish what they planned that day. There was absolutely no rushing, no corner cutting here. I am a meticulous person myself and I saw how Moe pays attention to every tiny detail, even to things that I would leave as is. For him, it was important that everything is 100% and not less.
If you look at our flooring there is no single gap in any part of the house. The floor is straight as a glass surface now. It wasnt so when they started the work, but he made sure everything was prepared and levelled in several areas to ensure smooth, hassle-free installation. It was a pleasure to watch them work.
Their tools: this paragraph should have a review on its own. The tools they use are all Dewalt, high-end, quality tools. He uses the sharpest, most expensive Diablo blades to cut the hardwood to ensure the cut is like a laser cut. Just during our work here, they replaced 3 blades that any other installer would use for a month.

Every day, after the completion of work, they thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned the house. The tools were nicely organized in one room. Every tool was cleaned and wiped. It shows that they love their tools. No single dirt mark on a single tool. Everything is so stunning. I couldnt resist not taking photos of their tools after they left, as this is an example to any contractor of how the tools and the job must be done and respected. The team definitely respects your home. They worked with the utmost care to make sure no walls are scratched or damaged during the installation.
I asked Moe about his stairs work and he showed me some of the projects he did for people. I could not believe my eyes what I saw. I thought it was illustrated vector graphics from some art magazine. Amazing, state-of-the-art, top-notch work. I could see their attention to every tiny detail, but then I remembered what tools they use, and his attention to every detail, so that was no longer a surprise to me. The best tools give you the best results. I am going to hire them for our stairs next.
The team works as a whole everyone is so organized. They know exactly what needs to be done by each person, so there are no delays in work. Not once did they stop the work, only for a quick lunch, when I asked them to please stop and take a break :) These are miracle workers that dont just provide stunning outcome but give you a piece of their heart with their work.

My next house, the team will get the keys and I wont even enter it until it is done, as I know it will be a miracle transformation. I found a team I can now rely on 200%.
