All the positive reviews are true, can't say much more than what has already been said. What I will add is that he was able to diagnose the issue with my dishwasher over the phone so when he arrived he already had the necessary part to fix it. Additionally, Peter/Modern Appliance was the only company out of the four I called that was willing to come down to the area around the Rogers centre to perform service. Highly recommend Peter and Modern Appliance.

I was impressed at first as I received an immediate call back and quick house call. The diagnosis was quick and he recommended a new dishwasher instead of an unnecessary repair, which I appreciated. However, the estimated 1 hour installation job was a different story. 20 minutes after his planned 8am arrival time I emailed and called to find out if there was a problem. Apparently he was at an earlier call, he claimed was a 30 minute job, and it ran long. He would have had to leave the other job at 7:30 to arrive at my location, so I wasn't clear how he could have lost 50 minutes without noticing that he was going to be quite late and why I had to call him instead of him calling me before 8 am when he already knew he was going to be late. I got a big story about a little old lady and her medication so I would be sympathetic, but I had an appt I had booked based on his info and now I had a problem. He finally arrived after 9:30 and by this time I had to call my husband home from work to cover off so I could go to my appt. It ended up taking 2 hours so I don't know what happened to any later appts but my appt should have been over by 9ish according to him and he left after 11:30 and I don't know why. The installation seems fine but reliability is also key for me.

My GE washer started leaking and my gas dryer was making a god awful squeal when running. Talked to Peter on the phone and described both problems to him. Sent him photos of my model numbers and he called me back within an hour with a parts estimate and a date for repair. He came out when scheduled, made both repairs in a couple of hours and resolved both problems. I really like these guys - they answer the phone, are straightforward to deal with and do good work. I've used them before and I'll use them again.

Peter arrived on time and well equipped to tackle the two tasks. In addition to repairing a leak in the diswasher's plumbing, he properly adjusted the front door latch and drainage hosing which were originally improperly installed. The icemaker replacement was handled in a straightforward manner and he adjusted a looseening freezer handle. What I appreciated most was his attention to detail in making doubly sure the plumbing leak was completely fixed along with his knowledgable explanation of services required. I will gladly use his services again and happy to recommend Modern Appliance to thers seeking quality work and fair pricing!
