My Move from Toronto to Langley BC

Dear Andrew,

People are quick to write about a complaint but I would definitly would like to give you and your company a ten out ten for a job well done. Everything arrived as scheduled and in excellent condition -not one item shipped was missing.

The packers and the movers who come to Toronto , the mover name Ismail and his crew were polite, professional men.

I would highly recommend your company to anyone making a move.

Yours sincerely

Lisa

My move from Toronto to Jupiter Florida

Dear Herb Bonder,
This is to thank you and Multicity for terrific job you did in caring for our move. We had many concerns as we had to put our possessions in storage; an unfamiliar experience for us. We initially appretiated meeting you Herb; your organized presentation along with Multicity's history is what persuaded us to choose Multicity to handle our relocation needs. We also thank you Herb for directing us to a reliable company that shipped our Automobile from Toronto to Jupiter FL.

We must also comment on your moving staff. The guys were great. (Ismail and his crew). We even sent photos of the late afternoon we all spent together wrapping things up in Toronto. We loved seeing one of the same men who cared for us in Toronto drive up to our new home in Florida with our things. Multicity's contacts here in Florida were also great.

As an artist I was quite apprehensive about transporting and shipping my paintings. Thank you for the great job you did in shipping this work.

We will keep Multicity Moving in mind for any future relocation concers and will recommend my friends who is planning to relocate.
Thanks again for a great job and Herb, thanks for dropping off the free boxes.

Sincerely, Ariel

Moving

My wife and I looked at a bunch of different moving companies in Toronto, for our move to Vancouver. They were all very pricey and had ton of extra fees associated with it. Only one with good pricing and and no extra fees was Multicity Moving. I dealt with Leslie in the Mississauga location. She is one of the sales agents, and she did an excellent job throughout the move. All the stuff arrived in good condition and on time. We are very pleased and will definitely use them again, and recommend to others.

Moving long distance

I moved all the contents of my 2 bdrm condo from Toronto to Vancouver in December 2010, which included packing.

The actual move in Toronto & Vancouver went fine - the movers did their job. Several items were broken but aren't worth it to me to trigger the $300 deductible to claim. Some things annoyed me, like how they packed my pots & pans within my linens. None of the boxes were marked, although there was a sticker system that could be cross-referenced against paper slips.

My dissatisfaction arises from two issues:

1. Actual charge being 45% higher than quotation.
I understand that quotations are for reference only, but that's why I requested an in-home review/estimate. My husband, who was there at the time, told me that the estimator (Mr Bonder) spent all of two minutes in our suite and declined looking at our storage locker. Then to our surprise, the actual weight came in 45% over quotation. And the local agent wouldn't open the door to the truck unless I paid in full on the spot (of course I had tried calling head office but could not get through to anyone). I think that a +/ of 25% is reasonable and is what I'd expect from someone who has 10+ years of experience. But my final bill came in at $5200 compared to a quote of $3500.

2. Lack of communication
After pick-up in mid-December, I virutally had no information on where my load was. Understandably, the holidays were in the midst of this period but I never got any updates - all communication was initiated by me. So as one week would pass, I'd call in and get an indication that it "may" come the next week - but not to make plans around it.

In fact, I received a call from the local agent on a holiday Monday asking if they could move the next day. Head office had advised that I would be given "lots" of advance warning. I then had to scramble to get ahold of my property manager to secure the elevator and have family members on-hand to oversee the move.

This seems really unresonable and it was only on account of luck & the kindness of my family that we made it work. But it shouldn't have been this way.

Also, the lack of communication continues on. I had left multiple messages with their Sales Manager Mr Bonder to call me regarding my concerns with the quotation. It's been two weeks and I still haven't heard back other than when he called me after a week to say that he was on vacation & would have to look at my file first before commenting. Usually, if you're out of the office you say so on your voicemail. I have tried speaking with other people in their office but everyone is deferring to the elusive Mr Bonder so I'm stuck.

Therefore, I can't in good conscience recommend MultiCity. The scary part is the final bill - I don't think the average person could deal with a price jump like that. And to have to deal with a lack of information about the move itself is unsettling.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Provide more than one avenue to address customer concerns. Have a back-up plan when employees are on vacation. Ensure smoother communication between local agent & head office.

Full move from Toronto to Los Angeles

I recently relocated to Los Angeles from Toronto, for work, and decided to bite the bullet pay to have all my furniture shipped down. I was convinced that I was going to have to pay $3,000+ for the service. After sending some emails out and gathering quotes, it seemed as though my hunch was correct... Most of the companies were giving me estimates of anywhere between $2,500 and $4,000... Except for MultiCity Movers. They came back with the astonishingly reasonable quote of $1,800, which I thought was too good to be true. I braced myself for less than adequate service.

And then Steve and Abraham showed up, two courteous, professional and hyper-organized guys who came in, carefully assessed what needed further wrapping and what did not, helped me pack two extremely awkward objects, loaded it all into the truck, meticulously reviewed my customs form with me, and had it all done in an hour flat.

Abraham then sent me follow-up emails tracking the progress of the items and has been incredibly responsive and polite whenever I email with further questions.

To say that I was impressed with MultiCity Movers would be a huge understatement. I've already recommended them to two friends and would happily do so again. Well done guys, and thank you.

California Move

WE MOVED MY PARENTS FROM WINDSOR, ON TO CALIFORNIA, CA.  WE LOOKED AT MANY MOVING COMPANIES BUT FOUND MULTICITY TO BE THE MOST HELPFUL AND HONEST.  THE COMPANY WAS UP FRONT WITH THE COSTS AND NOT LIKE THE OTHER MOVING COMPANIES WHO HAVE HIDDEN FEES OR COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE MOVE.  I HAD A FREE IN HOUSE ESTIMATE DONE BY THEIR RELOCATION SPECIALIST WHO WAS FRIENDLY AND  HELPFUL.  HE GAVE ME TIPS ON HOW TO PACK CERTAIN ITEMS AND REALLY  WAS AN EXPERT IN THE MOVING FIELD.  THE MOVERS WERE VERY FAST AND EFFICIENT WITH THE MOVE.  THE GENTLEMEN WERE FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL.  THE OFFICE STAFF WERE ALWAYS THERE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS HAD GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS.  THE DISPATCHER CALLED THE AFTERNOON  BEFORE TO LET ME KNOW THE HOURS WE CAN EXPECT THE MOVERS TO COME.  MULTICITY IS THE BEST MOVING COMPANY ANHYONE CAN USE TO MOVE LONG DISTANCE WISE.

Moving From Guelph, ON to San Jose, California

My parents recently moved from Guelph, ON to San Jose, California. They hired MultiCity to pack and move their 2 bedroom apartment to the U.S. They asked for a free in house estimate from their International Specialist and the gentleman who came out was great. he answered any questions that we had and provided my parents with the forms they needed to fill out to pass their belongings through the U.S. border.

Before my parents moved they required a few months of storage. MultiCity Moving gave them free storage for 30 days and a cheap rate for the following month. The office staff were so friendly and helpful. The movers who came on the day of their move were very efficient and friendly. My parents were amazed with the overall result of this move that they are still talking about it and are recommending this company to all their friends. Thanks MultiCity for the great moving experience my parents had.
